An Excellent book,
By Alan Turing 2007 (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Computer Crime, Investigation, and the Law (Paperback)
I have been in the IT world for 30 years. I have read a lot of security books. This one was incredibly comprehensive. It gives a good introduction to concepts, then a thorough coverage of specific crimes and relevant laws. About midway through the book it begins with hands on instructions of exactly how to conduct computer crime investigations. The introduction to encase, steganography, and other topics was really good.My only complaint would be the length. I think they could have easily added 100 more pages just by going deeper on each topic. The book gives a broad introduction to the entire field of computer crime but I would have liked more depth on certain topics, like EnCase. I also would like to have seen some coverage of non-U.S. laws (Canada, Europe, etc.) |
