When it was written (in 1993) it was a fairly useful book on computer fonts. Today most of the technology has changed so many topics are irrelavent. For example, in this time before True Type fonts were widely available, he discusses non-scable fonts, font cartridges and dot matrix printers. Also the last third of the book, which contains specimens of fonts, addresses for font vendors and reference books, is also out date.
