The Computer Graphics Interface (CGI) is an interactive computer graphics standard targeted at the device interface rather than at the application program interface. This book provides an overview of the CGI standard for implementors, system designers, and users. All aspects of the ISO CGI standard are covered. This book can be read alone or as a companion reference to the standard. It presents all concepts of the CGI standard in their entirety, supplemented with figures and examples that show practical use. No prior background in computer graphics standards is required, although a general knowledge of computer graphics, programming, and computer architecture is assumed. Organized into seven chapters, this book is structured so that the first two introductory chapters can be used to gain a general understanding of the CGI with the latter chapters focusing on the details of CGI functionality.
