Wow! This is the most comprehensive book on information security out there! I keep it handy in my office at all times and have bought copies for all my employees, who refer to it on a near-daily basis. This really is a must-have for anyone in the industry to keep on top of the latest state-of-play for infosec. 5 stars!!

I was looking for a great technical book that would help me to understand many aspects of information security but this book does give good information but just doesn't give the technical information i was looking for. I saw after purchasing the book that it was written by a technical writer. nonetheless, it does give good information for a person just wanting to be in...

Just a sampling of chapter headings: Netwoek Forensics, Data Encryption, Homeland security, VoLP security, SAN Security, Content Filtering, Data Loss Protection, Cryptography Primer, Preventing System Intrusions, Biometrics, Storage and Information Devices Security etc. As this sampling shows this book covers the gamit of computer security and information area issues for todays professional.

This book contains EXTENSIVE knowledge and viewpoints from over 50 industry experts. You could say it is made up of over 50 books in one. John Vacca has taken the knowledge and guidance from these 50 experts, edited, organized, and incorporated it into one invaluable source book on computer information and computer security issues.

This book should be the gold standard and should be required to be next to everyone's desk and work area of everyone within the computer security field.

Vacca's newest book is wonderfully rich in detail and breadth regarding the ever important aspects of computer and data security. The books cover the wide spectrum of all aspects of network management and it's security, and are written by contributing authors well known in their specific technical fields. Many of the chapter have tutorial material which provides the inexperienced reader a great overview of the subject matter. In addition the detailed issues and problems and implementation solutions are provided in an up to date manner. Computer security tehnology is a topic that is vital for information professionals. This reference book is a must-have on the shelf of anyone in this profession/field.
