Editorial Reviews

Review

As computer books go, most are dull, boring and very tedious. This one is delightfully different. It is both funny and amusing, as well as informative and enlightening. I even enjoyed reading the bios of each contributor, One article entitled "Sauron's Weird Glossary of Computer Terms" has some of the funniest definitions I have read in a long time. The article by Lary Crews was especially informative and interesting. Being a computer nerd myself, I readily identified with many of the humorous stories. A book to be read by everyone with a computer or an interest in one. -- Eclectic Book Reviews, May 1966

There's something quaint and captivating about this oddball collection.....a strange mix of technical essays, humor columns and offbeat fiction. Whatever your feelings on the current computer age, there's someone represented in this collection that shares your view....Hats off to the Ageless Press, which has pulled together an eclectic mix of authors.....has a certain charm that eludes many of the big market releases.....makes a fine birthday gift or stocking stuffer. -- Today, North Jersey Newspapers Company, September 7, 1994

From the Publisher

We decided to publish this book because many authors who, following the caveats of writing classes, wrote about computers and their experiences with them, were offered no place for their release.. Remember this was 1993 before the internet. We've even included some short plays.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great compendium of computer stories, December 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Computer Tales of Fact and Fantasy: Or How We Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Computer (Paperback)
I picked up a copy of "Computer Tales of Fact and Fantasy" recently. It is a wonderful compemdium of computer stories; some of which are humorous, some informative, and yet others are first rate short stories. Being somewhat of a historian, I was fascinated by the story of Babbage's "Analytical Engine", developed in London back in 1837 during the industrial revolution. This is now considered to be the forerunner of today's P.C. This book is a great read for computer users of any ability.
