More About the Author

Jack B. Rochester is an American author, born in Waukegan, Illinois, in 1944. He grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, and Rawlins, Wyoming, where he developed a deep and abiding love of mountains, wilderness, freedom and independence often found in Westerners. He began reading at age 3-1/2 and never lost his love of the story. After graduating Sonoma State College with a Master's degree in Comparative Literature, he took a job as campus sales representative for a college textbook publishing company. He was quickly promoted to editor. Ten years and several editorships later, his first book, The Naked Computer, was published and became a national bestseller, reviewed in the New York Times and USA Today. Over his career he has written 11 nonfiction books, four of them college texts, and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, as well as a number of short stories and poetry in literary magazines. He also taught at several New England colleges and universities part-time for over 20 years. Rochester recently completed a new novel and devotes time to helping new authors turn their ideas into books.
