Computers for Seniors for Dummies fills in the gaps for those of us who did not grow up with computers and have no idea what the terminology means. I explains clearly what to do and when to do it. Buying this book has saved our younger friends and relatives countless hours of being bothered by us for information. So glad we figured out how to buy it and look forward to receiving The Internet for Seniors for Dummies.

You should know that since MicroSoft updates their software regularly, not every computer book is helpful. For instance, if you have XP, or Vista, maybe instructions will differ from the latest version which is MicroSoft 7. So, if you are looking to see how to accomplish a specific task, you may not find it in this book. Know what your software is and look for the book specifically geared toward that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gift Review, December 31, 2010

I gave this book to my husband who, so far, does not participate in computer world. Because he wanted to be able to send and receive e-mails from a couple of his friends who are computer literate, (husband is 75, as am I) he kept saying that he was definitely going to learn. Obviously, my efforts to help him have failed. Knowing how great the Dummies books are...used them way back to more quickly learn various computer programs...I thought this sounded like it might fill the bill for him. Through no fault of the book, it hasn't. He's read a little bit of it but nothing more. I'm simply giving this book a good review though because I think it's a well written book from skimming it and I'm a fan of the Dummies books.
