This review is from: Comrade Wolf (Paperback)
From the back cover ~~
Life was very pleasant, thought Susan Cheyne, as she walked through the grounds of her father's villa in Switzerland. She had completed her survey on coastal pollution for the International Geophysical Committee, and she could look forward to a few days' holiday before returning to England to write up the report, and to see Joe Dowson again - the man she had met so recently and who shared so many of her interests. But her pleasant daydreaming turned into a nightmare when she was suddenly kidnapped - by a man they called Wolf - a green-eyed, dark-haired man who was the most handsome man she had ever seen; and the most dangerous...

My review ~~
I always thought that I had never read a romance novel penned by a male author. I was wrong: Madeleine Ker is indeed the pseudonym used by Marius Gabriel and this book of his has been on my keeper shelf for over two decades now! :) I first read "Comrade Wolf" when I was 15 and have reread it quite a few times ever since. Its special "something" never fails me. Must be the thriller aspects of the storyline and the absolute sensible hero who's most generous with the heroine. Another element I found interesting is the mentioning of the "Stockholm Syndrome", a psychological situation where an abducted hostage develops feelings (mostly loyalty) to his/her taker. Indeed, Susan falls in love with Wolf, a man who is reputed to be a terrorist.
