DANGEROUS! DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!,

i have a lot of experience with steamers over the years - mine as well as others used in stores. stupid me, then, for not realizing that you get what you pay for. my jiffy steamer finally died after nine years, but it served me well. it is a machine of substance, solid parts, very stable. trust me - you don't want to scrimp when it comes to working with a device designed to produce streams of hot steam! i foolishly tried to save some money by getting the conair gs10rh, and i'm returning it immediately. the well into which the telescoping pole sits is just about 1 inch deep - not deep enough to keep the pole stable. the brackets to hold the telescoped parts extended aren't firm - any heavy jacket will make them slide. the housing itself is amazingly lightweight; i thought that was a good thing, but now i know why the jiffy steamer's housing seems like it weighs a ton - you really do want the unit to be solidly anchored. handling a steamer is a serious matter. don't take on unnecessary risk by getting an inexpensive, poorly designed, lightweight steamer like the conair. spend the extra money for the product that has been the standard bearer for years: jiffy. you won't regret it. and even though mine died after nine years, i have no regrets, and now i'll do the right thing and get another.

Excellent Steamer, Excellent Price,

I bought this last weekend and after reading the positive and negative reviews here I did not know what to expect. After 12 shirts and 3 pair of dress pants I am impressed. The crease attachment really works well. I am so impressed I am thinking about getting the GS-11 model for the 1400 watts and the locking casters. I got a great price on the GS-10 and it does a great job so I have not made up my mind yet on upgrading to the 1400. The reason I gave it 4 stars is you can not lock the casters. This was a slight problem on tile but on carpet it was not a problem.

don't bother,

This model has a lot wrong with it. First of all, there is no switch to turn the steam off while you are using it, and even worse, there's no good place to rest the hose producing the steam while you change out the garments if you actually want to do more than one article of clothing at a time. Furthermore, the steamer itself does not work well, and does not efficiently remove wrinkles from clothing.

Great Value!,

I use this product almost everyday and have nothing but praise for such a great product. It builds up steam very fast and removes wrinkles effectively. It could be build a little heavier and the hose could be a little bit longer, but still a great value for the money. It is definately a time saver and beats ironing. I like the unit so well that I bought one for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas.

I've been using this steamer for the past year and a half. I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond when I started my current job and needed to wear business casual every day. Since then I've thrown out my ironing board because I'll never iron again. This machine does it all so easily and professionally and quickly that it seems ridiculous that I ever bothered with ironing. Sure, it's more expensive, but since I use mine several times a week, I feel confident that it has more than paid for itself in the time and hassle that it has saved me. It's easy to do creases and things just end up looking nicer since you hang them to steam them - no wrinkles! I haven't had any of the problems that the other reviewers mentioned. It's been fine! The steamer has been great without any problems so far (knock on wood). I would highly recommend it!

Wonderful,

I think this is a great product. It heated up immediately for me and got the wrinkles out completely. I don't understand why the previous reviews were bad, but I've had nothing but a great experience with this steamer. It saves me so much time, I don't ever iron anymore. It even steams my daughters formal gowns with ease.

I'm no steamer pro, but I love my steamer!,

Understanding that I have never used much less owned a steamer before this, I can not explain how incredibly happy I am with this product!
I use it exclusively for delicate clothes or t-shirts that can not be ironed or look strange if they are ironed. I still use my iron regularly for heavier duty clothes, but for draping tops and dresses, THIS IS A MIRACLE WORKER! You plug it in and it starts to warm up and gets hot in about a minute. There's plenty of steam - I wrap the head of the steamer in a thin kitchen towel so that any condensation doesn't drip onto the fabric I'm steaming and I still get plenty of kick. I'm sure higher end models are fancier and better in many aspects - but I wouldn't use a steamer for everything and I don't use it every day. This is for people (like me) who need a few garments in their wardrobe occasionally steamed wrinkle free - it's not for the going-pro seamstress, or the person who wants to throw out their iron. The only downside (and it's not terrible) is that it's pretty big, so you have to have decent closet space to keep it out of eyesight. I'd purchase one again in a heartbeat.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!,

This thing is an absolute disaster. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I've tried several times to use this piece of junk, and every single time I get irritated and just wear wrinkled clothes. First of all, it takes longer than an iron to build up steam. Second, it runs out of steam a lot and then you have to wait again for it to build up. Third, if you try to steam any material other than ultra-thin women's dress clothes, you are in for a treat - a 10-20 minute treat of trying to get the wrinkles out. I mean....I can iron 5 shirts in the time it takes to get one shirt sort-of-wrinkle-free. Keep in mind these are men's dress shirts with lots of creases, etc. I'm sure a dress or skirt would be much easier. Oh, lets add the fact that the thing takes up a ton of closet space.
Bottom line: if you have tons of time to waste, money to waste, closet space, and a LOT of patience, you might like this. I for one will be wearing wrinkled clothes or using an iron from now on.
