I got sick of ironing so I decided to buy this today at Bed, Bath & Beyond. At Bed, Bath & Beyond, you can use the 20% off coupon.
I looked online and compared products and this one seems to be the best buy for under $50. This one has 1200 watts compared to others which have 600 & 800 watts. My decision came down to this one and the Rowenta steam brush (800 watts & only 1-2/3 ounce water capacity). I decided on this one because I did not want to have to constantly refill the water tank. It's the GS6 model for about $40. It does hold a lot of water and does produce about half an hour of steam. I have been using this for almost 6 months and have to say that it is amazing. I use it to steam everything. It works faster on the softer fabrics (t-shirts, polos etc.) but it does work on the stiffer fabrics as well such as jeans and button-down dress shirts. I also use it to steam curtains and furniture. To learn how to steam, I just watched a few videos on youtube about steaming clothes. You have to be careful not to burn yourself when steaming. You MUST always steam in an upwards direction because if you do it in the downward direction the steam will burn you. Also, one negative of this item is that the long steam pipe gets hot so you must avoid touching that also. I keep a half gallon bottle of water on the floor in my closet in case the steamer needs to be refilled. The more you use the steamer, the easier it will be to use.

This sucker is AMAZING!!! Tons of constant steam, ran for about 20 minutes and used half the tank. It's amazing to watch the wrinkles literally dissappear. Works perfect on T-shirts, great on jeans, and haven't tried it on anything thicker. I would really give it 4.5 stars since it doesn't have a stand for the steam head (however there is something to hook to a door top), and there is no trigger to turn the steam on and off (I did burn myself twice so may want to wear a glove on the hand not holding the steam head, but in retrospect I've burnt myself several times ironing as well), so make sure to have clothes ready when using this. The one thing that pushes it over the edge is the price, heck you can't even buy a travel steamer for this cheap!

I steamed a weeks worth of laundry in under 30 minutes.
I burned my fingers a couple of times which was my fault. I put clothes on hangers straight out of dryer then steam. The steamer is very easy to set up & work. I am planning on purchasing 2 more for my sister & mother.

Effortless and effective! Exactly what I was looking for!,

I have had my eye on this little steamer for a while. I have used a professional Jiffy steamer at work before, and I was reluctant to buy something at this pricepoint for fear that it wouldn't quite live up to my expectations. I am happy to report that this is EXACTLY what I was looking for--and at a very reasonable cost!
With this purchase, I wasn't expecting to throw away my iron. It is undeniable that if you want a crisp, pressed look, you will probably have to use an iron. Nevertheless, I dread ironing because it is time-consuming and tedious. In the rare event that I do have some free time, ironing is not a top priority. In fact, I have lots of great clothes that I do not wear, simply because I am too tired (or lazy!) to iron them. This steamer heats up in about 5 minutes and takes only a minute or so to steam your entire outfit, which is perfect for those hectic mornings before work! I plan on saving my iron for more formal occasions when I want to dress to impress or if I want to wear linen (I tried to steam one linen top, and it took out some of the wrinkles but just didn't do the job like an iron would). For everyday use, I have had success with this steamer for pants, denim, knits, sweaters, silky tops, and woven blouses. You simply cannot beat a steamer for use with delicate silky fabrics or knits. Anyone who has tried to iron a knit top or a lightweight sweater, only to make weird scrunched wrinkles in it will definitely appreciate what I am talking about! Plus, you don't have to worry about any of those shiny "burn" marks that an iron can sometimes leave behind. Additionally, I line-dry most of my wardrobe to preserve the life and fit of garments, and so, they frequently wind up looking and feeling all crinkly and shriveled by the time they dry. This steamer has them looking great again in a flash! One tip I would like to share with others is that in order to get the best results with any steamer, while your item is hanging, you should use one hand to hold the fabric taut as you use the other hand to run the steamer head across it. If you do not hold the fabric taut, it will not release the wrinkles as effectively.

If you had never used a fabric steamer before, you might think that this fabric steamer is good. It works, it is just not very powerful and a touch awkward to use. We had a Conair professional upright version of this for many years, which would be similar to the GS11RH. I raved about it to my friends and family and I still think that this appliance was one of the best that we have owned. It certainly beats ironing! It did eventually break but we used it constantly. However, the Conair GS60 fabric steamer is not as wonderful and clearly has less "bells and whistles" and one must remember that you get what you pay for. I'm looking forward to returning this model in exchange for something that will hold the garment and has more muscle under the hood.

Not as good as other designs.,

When my prior Conair (a model with telescoping pole) finally died after many years of service, I thought that this was sufficient for my needs. A big difference in the design means that in this model, all of the water in the tank must first come to a boil to produce the steam. In my prior model, water was fed in from the tank to an area where it was boiled producing steam, so all of the water didn't have to be boiling before steam was produced. It now takes over 10 minutes for a full tank to come to a boil and produce steam. It's no longer feasible to steam something quickly like with the other design; it seems like a waste of electricity to boil so much water to just steam a single article. I cannot recommend this style of steamer.

*~*~*WAY Better than Ironing, Works Great*~*~*,
This review is from: Conair GS60 Deluxe Compact Fabric Steamer (Kitchen)
My Husband & I bought this for 50% off on Black Friday at least 2 years ago while we were out shopping...so keep yours eyes open on Black Friday!!
This is pretty easy to use and the more you use it the easier it gets. I used to always have the ironing board out since my husband needed shirts for work 5 days a week. Although I used to work in a Laundry Mat and could iron like a Pro, it was time consuming and I soon hated it. My husband wasn't very good at ironing & it took him forever. Once we got this we tried it out right away. My husband had his shirt steamed in much less time than if he had tried to iron and all the wrinkles were gone. He started steaming his own shirts and can now do it in just a few minutes per shirt. I have only used this occasionally, it was a little akward at first but after doing it several times it is easy. As with anything dealing with steam, you have to be careful because it does get VERY hot. But just like a regular iron, you learn how to hold it so you don't get burned. We've had ours for at least 2 years and it is still working perfectly fine. No, it doesn't heat instantly up but who cares, be patient. My only wishes for this would be that the hose would be a little longer and that where the hose meets with the base would swivel up also. It swivels around but there have been many times where I've flipped this over because it didn't swivel up. But those are only minor things. If or when ours ever does quit working, we will be buying another one. If you have anything with tons of major wrinkles, this might not work as well as an iron. But if you throw the garmet in the dryer with a moist towel for a few minutes and then try to steam it, normally you will be able to get all wrinkles out. I also love that even on items where you are not allowed to iron, you can steam out the wrinkles. I have twins and their little clothes are too small for an iron and often times have bows, ruffles, iron ons and I am able to steam the wrinkles right out!

This steamer takes a couple minutes to fully start up, and even then it doesn't let out a smooth line of steam. It sort of coughs the steam out, and drips while trying to do that. And you better wear gloves and keep it away from your eyes, because it burns pretty bad when it coughs hot water on you. It does take wrinkles out, but it's certainly not easier than ironing. If the steam came out without dripping and struggling, i would give it a higher rating.

The steam is so weak, it is almost useless; I was glad that Amazon let me return the product without any hassle. Don't waste time with this one; my t-fal iron does a much better job than this one.

If you ever have rolled up your sleeves and then tried to iron them out know it is impossible. I'm giving it four stars because (at least on dress shirts) you need to go back over with an iron to give it a crisp look, but after just two months it has already paid for itself in what I've saved in dry-cleaning bills.
