Even though this razor is very inexpensive it lacks in performance. I've only been able to use it 3x's and already lost its sharpness.

This set has saved me from having to spend $17 for each haircut my son gets. It would have been nice to have a few of the larger numbered combs, and the scissors aren't all that great, but it all fits inside the case nicely and the razor works well, all in all I am one happy camper with this product.

My wife has cut my hair at home for the past twenty years. We bought the identical Conair Great Value Haircut Kit about 7-8 years ago. It has worked well until recently, when the blades needed sharpening, and the clipper motor sounded like it was dying. So we ordered the same kit (the clipper model number is even the same).

I can't speak for others, but we have had very good results from the clipper and the attachable combs. Now for the economics: I get about 25 haircuts a year. Local barbers get about $10-12 a haircut, including tip. That means that I'm saving around $250-$300 a year, plus driving costs, plus all the time it takes. The savings are pretty obvious, and you can't beat the convenience. I guess I should acknowledge that I get a buzz cut/crew cut, whatever you call it, and that's about the simplest haircut there is.

As I mentioned, when our current Conair clippers needed replacing, we didn't hesitate in replacing them with the same product. With the results that we've had, and the low cost of the kit, it was a no-brainer.
