I LOVE this curling iron. I have very fine, straight hair which has always been difficult to curl. As others have said this curling iron heats SUPER fast, and the steam really helps my hair to hold the curl. I've used mine so much in the past 2 1/2 years that it's gotten quite gunked up from hair spray; so I'm buying another one today. I may have considered a less expensive model, but because this one comes with a quick, snap-on cover, I can even curl my hair right before I leave for the airport. I don't have to wait for the curling iron to cool, just unplug, snap on the cover and throw in my suitcase. It also has an automatic timer so you never have to wonder "Did I turn my curling iron off this morning?".

The Conair MI20RCS 1-Inch Steam'n Shine Curling Iron is the best curling iron I have ever used. My hair is difficult to curl because it is very straight and coarse. With this curling iron I am able to curl my hair fast (it heats up in minutes, and the personally controlled steam option instantly sets and adds shine to my hair). This is a curling iron that I do not have to hold in my hair for 20 seconds. On the high setting, I wrap my hair around the barrel, steam it, and release- as easy and quick as that. It has reduced my morning routine time to half. The only drawback is that the handle is not durable, so it not one of those curling irons you can abuse by throwing in a gym bag or "checking" on an airplane.

I have long blonde hair and have used hot rollers for years. My mother came home with this Conair Steam'n Shine Curler and I was amused. I like the idea of steam versus a hot rod since I assume it causes less damage. It was so easy to use, it heated up instantly and it works wonderfully. I have since bought one for myself and recommend it highly.

I purchased this curling iron about 6 months ago, and have really liked it. I have long hair, so have to watch out when I use a curling iron. Sometimes they tend to make my hair frizzy.
This one doesn't. You can use it with or without water, and it has a bunch of heat settings ( I believe they are 1-20 ) It heats up to even the highest heat setting superfast ( under a minute )which is great! The plastic cover it comes with is handy too. I didn't think I would use it, but it's good for when you want to put it away and it's still a little too warm. Put the cover on and you don't have to worry about it touching anything else in the drawer ( or suitcase ) and ruining it.
If you add water the steam really does set the curl, and makes it smoother and shinier.

I was lucky enough to get this amazing item at my local discount store. Let's just say I feel like a completely different woman now. Sounds corny, I know. This iron is fantastic. I've used many different kinds of straightening products on my hair before, some successfully but after time-consuming effort and others with no success at all. I had beautiful, sleek hair in less than 20 minutes. As with any appliance using heat, it should be used in moderation to avoid damage. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it should have a longer tip on the end to avoid burning oneself. But that's about it. I guess I should mention my type of hair. It is very long, curly and I dye it regularly. Hope this helps!

This curling iron is amazing. Im so glad I found it. They have stopped making them, and I don't know why. It is truly a gem, and the only thing that will curl my hair. THe curl last days with no frizz!

My hair is like Gloria Reuben's- unbelievably thick and curly. Once in a while I like to change my hair to a straight style. In the past I had problems with straightening appliances that either could not get my hair straight enough or it would leave my hair feeling and smelling parched. One day I came across this woman's online hair photo album whose hair was just like mine. She had a picture of her hair straightened and had used a Conair Steam n' Shine Curling Iron. I couldn't believe it because her hair looked as thought it had been professionally done- smooth, straight, and shiny. So after seeing her results, I decided to go for it and get the Steam Curling Iron for myself. Let me tell you, I was surprised on how well this curling iron straightened on my Afro-textured hair. I would recommend this to anyone who has hair like mine. It's definitely worth the money.

I originally bought this curling in MN. I had it for 2.5 years and it quit working. However, it worked great. That is when I was so pleased to find it here on Amazon. I could not find it anywhere in my city. You really must get it.

I bought this curling iron several years ago and absolutely love it. I have looked all over for a new one and can't find it anywhere. Please bring this steam curling iron back if it has been discontinued.

The steam and shine iron is a lifesaver for my type hair! I have always had a hard time with my natural curly hair, the steam and shine iron gave me the freedom I so desperately needed to style my hair. It looks so good when I use the iron, I love the steam!! BUT, I can no longer find this iron anywhere, it seems every time I find a good thing it is no longer available. PLEASE BRING BACK THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!! I'm sure there are many more who could richly benefit from this iron. I had 2 sizes, the small and the larger one. Hope to see these products in the near future!!!!!!!!!!
