Quiet decent and simple performer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Conair MN250RCS 3-1 Personal Trimmer (Health and Beauty)
I purchased this around 3 months back and I can say that with my first trimmer, I'm pretty satisfied. It is simple and does its job quite well. I would say its value for money and something good to start with. The shortcoming which I felt is that nose trimmer is not that easy to convinient to use( for that matter is there anything out which is convinient in nose). Its good enough for beard, moustaches and under arm hairs.

Good trimmer BUT very easy to break. Not at all rugged. I broke mine the second month just trying to put on the blade guide. If you do this you MUST remove thge head prior to putting the guide on./ Even at this price - is it really worth the aggrivation? Not for me.

Conair 3 in 1 Personal Trimmer - Great Value, Some Good Functions, Many Weaknesses,
This review is from: Conair MN250RCS 3-1 Personal Trimmer (Health and Beauty)
The Conair MN250RCS 3-1 Personal Trimmer is a nice value that is priced very fairly. It does a few things pretty well, but does several others very poorly. In the end, this product will fit for a very small number of people who, like me, want to trim their facial hair as much as possible to limit the actual shaving that they have to do. I don't like to shave. I use MANY variety of trimmers and razors to minimize the amount of actual *shaving* I have to do as much as possible. I have owned this Conair set for a long time. Recently I have been shopping around for newer alternatives and decided it was time for me to revisit this model. I may end up just buying another one of these to replace my current one when it fails. As far as razors go, for shaving I use the Gillette Fusion Power Phenom Razor. That model includes battery-powered vibration that makes it much more comfortable for me than most razors. But still, I don't like to use it more than 3 days a week, and rely on several different trimmers to keep myself groomed on the other days. PROS: + Main trimmer attachment does the job well enough + User-changeable battery, which is great in a low cost trimmer + Nice way to trim if you have sensitive skin + Great price even for just the trimmer alone + Easy to change the heads or load a new battery + Definitely an improvement on rechargeable version CONS: - Other attachments don't work so well and take too long to use - The base to hold this stuff is not good at holding the attachments, which will fall out - The batteries will run down fast, so re-charge after each use - The trimmer can pull on your hair when the batteries are low on juice - Probably not good enough for beard trimming and shaping - Somewhat fragile body The best thing about this 3 in 1 trimmer is the wide trimmer attachment shown in the picture. This is pretty good for trimming facial hair, especially if yours grows straight. The other attachments are not very useful in my opinion. There is a longer grooming attachment which is OK for shaping around the ears, and a smaller hair trimmer that does not really get any use from me. Those heads are just OK, but definitely take too long to use to be very functional. The included head and comb are designed for people who are trying to use this to trim and shape a beard, and the few times I used the guard left me convinced that that too is not a very useful feature. So if you want to trim your facial hair in preparation for, or instead of, shaving then this is for you. But if you are looking for a beard shaping set, I think this set may not meet your needs. This set used to come in a rechargeable version which tended to lose power very quickly. Over a year and change of owning that one, I found that towards the end the battery slowly died to the point that I had to leave it charging all the time and then wait for it to *heat up* whenever I went to use it. At least with this version you can use a rechargeable battery and remove it for charging after each use. That will keep this trimmer working at full power. That is almost a requirement. If you try to use this trimmer with a weak battery you will find that it tends to pull on your hair and stop if you try to trim too quickly. In terms of value, this is a very good product for that one specific use. The price is even less than what I paid for most recent power razor set. Considering that using this a few days a week helps me to save on the cost of razor blades, it's definitely economical. However, the fact that I do use that razor should make it clear that this will trim your facial hair fine but will not produce a close shave. I have also used the Remington trimmer set, and while the additional attachments are more useful than these that set is also best for a similar type of use. So neither of these will fill the roles of a quality razor blade or an electric shaver. But for trimming and cutting down on the number of days you have to use a razor blade, this is a very good tool. Enjoy!
