I also have medium to thick hair that is very curly.

They give you a perfect amount of "pageant volume" without looking teased up like a cotton ball, but gives your hair a beautiful amount of smooth wave. :)

Since it wasn't provided in the description, let me advise you that they are 3+ inches in diameter.

I hate blowdryers. Hate them. I have thick hair...and by the time I've dried all of my hair...my arm is ready to fall off.

I also hate mornings. It takes me forever to get dressed, get fed...get my stuff together and get out of the house.

These rollers have solved all of my morning problems. How?

I keep them in my car. In the morning...I sit in my car with hair that's still pretty damp from my morning shower...and that I've applied a "leave in" styling conditioner to. Then I put these rollers in my hair...which is medium length. Then I point the blowers from my car's heating/air conditioning at my head...and drive 40 minutes to work. Listening to NPR...drinking coffee. Sure I get a few funny stares...but at least I'm not doing my make up or applying nailpolish...ya know?

Right before I pull into the parking lot...I pull the rollers out... and presto! Right from the salon hair...no blow drying. I call it Salon de'Corolla.

Anyway...I have VERY thick hair. These stay in wonderfully. If you have long or thin hair you might want to use clips to keep the rollers in the more challenging sections of your hair. These are really MEGA rollers. They work great for straightening shortish-medium length hair and adding an undercurl...but if you're looking for CURL...get a smaller size.

These rollers are described as jumbo. Gargantuan would be more fitting. Since it wasn't provided in the description, let me advise you that they are 3+ inches in diameter. It would have been nice if the marketing included this information.

Tried these rollers because I was looking for a way to style my hair with fewer shampoos and less heat. I had these buried in my dresser from years ago. Popped 4 of them into the areas of my hair that I have the most breakage and fragile hair (top of my head. Slept on them (not the comfiest thing but I got used to it) Woke up in the morning and found I had loose natural looking body and curl with no heat or shampoo. Even the hairs that were broken/damaged were behaving reasonably well. I'm sold, I want more of these in different sizes now. I read somewhere else you can set in the morning and take a shower, allowing the steam to set the curl in. I'll have to try that too.

HUGE velcro rollers which were exactly what I was looking for, give tons of volume and work great, but you will definitely need banana clips to hold them in!

Great size for big, loose curls.
I use clips to hold them in, though.
They really won't stay in otherwise unless you use lots of hairspray or other product.

I was surprised by how well these work. I normally hate styling my hair so I fully expected to give up on these after one try. They really do the job if you do it right - the key is to put them in after your hair dries a bit, but not all the way - 15-20 minutes before it's fully dry. The grip works fairly well too - you can't shake your head too much but if you just go about your normal routine they won't fall out.

They are indeed giant like others said but that's what I wanted - I didn't want to curl my hair but rather to give it volume which can only be done with giant curlers. I also like that they come in a neat zip-around soft but sturdy plastic container.

My hubby actually picked these up for me at the store. I had said i wanted Jumbo sized... and these are marked as MEGA! MEGA they are! I have fine thin hair that is a good 3-4 inches below shoulder length and these would JUST barely work for that hair length - only I doubt it would give a curl unless your hair is longer than mine. They don't say it in the ad here, but on the back of the package it does state that you might want to use clips to keep them in "snugger" than how they will be on their own. Also, when you go to pull them OUT of your hair, at least for my fine hair, it really held on, pulled and caused static. I could see these pulling out what wave (along with a few hairs!) there was when removing them (i did not try it with wet hair under a dryer or leaving it for the day) I wish i could find the kind of curlers my mom still uses to this day that you use with the hair curler pins (you know, those plastic pink ones!). But finding a 2 1/2 inch in diameter roller in that style does not seem Also, these are not WIDE, none of the new rollers seem to be very wide, making it difficult to put a large amount of hair in them.

I use these right after I finish drying my hair while it still has some moisture. The result is nice, full, soft curls. If you use small sections of hair, the rollers will stay in place; the rollers are hard to keep in place when using thicker sections of hair. Sometimes a bobby pin at the base will help keep them more securely in place. Sometimes the rollers flop a little, but not nearly as bad as with the electric curlers I had tried that had ineffective clips. I use the difuser on my hair dryer to finish drying/setting the curl. Carefully remove the rollers so you don't tangle your hair. I've never had a problem with my hair getting knotted in the roller.
