One-battery trimmers simply not strong enough, was glad to find a two-batteries version. It has a perfect design which will attract many more naive surfers like me. Unfortunately it's not good for nose hair trimming. Problem is it makes electric-like unpleasant sensations when touches sensitive skin inside nose.
So much that it makes you scared using it ;-) It also doesn't cut well, doesn't reach inside, makes burning smell and overheated. UPDATE On 2/7/2007: From my recent experience, the MicroTOUCH Turbo is an excellent alternative which has no problems mentioned above. The only problem is its durability (you may find yourself buying 2 per year) but at the price below $10 this is not a real issue. Good luck!

It actually scared me intially - because of the burning smell and heat. But now after using it for over a year, I'd recommend this product but do not keep high expectations. The design is good enough to reach places :-).

This is a good solid trimmer, first one I've tried. I've used scissors up to now but couldn't get an even cut. This gives a nice even trim quickly, the only drawback is my nose itches from the vibrations, but I can get used to that. Some reviews of this and other trimmers mention heat build-up (no problem) and electric smell (there, but not bad). Keep in mind that you must exhale while trimming or you'll breathe in hairs!

This is my second one...the first got broke in move. I liked it because it gets real close. I do not have problems with it 'nicking' me, and I really get in there! It seems to get the small hairs right at the edge, the difficult ones in the nooks, and the far back ones we should probably leave alone. After the 1st one broke I bought the best one at Walmart and it did a poor job. I was going to try the best selling one on Amazon, but hey, I knew this one worked. It does take two batteries, perhaps that is why it is powerful and able to cut close. I do not use the 'tilt' feature. I use it only on my nose. Their is a problem with the battery cover sliding off when you operate the on/off switch if you are not gentle, but I still recommend this item. The smell it gives off no doubt is because of the high speed, powerful motor breaking in...both of mine had them when new. I am not concerned with how loud the device is...though if I was, I would try a battery free/manual version. The single battery one from walmart is about 75% as loud as this one. Also, although the top should be popped off and rinsed after each use, the rest of the unit is not to be submerged or showered with. This item at Target.com is [...]w/ shipping (checked today, 12/27/2008).

This trimmer is excellent due to two batteries so it has plenty of power when the batteries start to run down. Sturdy, solid high speed unit, easy to clean, blade stays put when cover comes off. Bad smell(reported below)? You're kidding, right, it's a friggin' electric trimmer!

I have been using the product for about three weeks, and I'm satisfied with it's performance. It has more speed and looks sturdier than the last trimmer I had. Excellent product.

I had purchased one of these some years ago. I thought I'd get another one before it wears out. I'm very happy with this product. Easy to use. Efficient, does the job well. Great price. Has lasted a long time. Very easy to clean. I like this product.

My old Sharper Image trimmer is better than this! It has a hard time trimming ear hair up close and sounds like it will stop when I trim. It is advertised as 10,000 rpm, but sounds and feels like 100 rpm. You get what you pay for in the end.

I learned of this item as it was featured in Men's Health magazine. I am not real pleased with the performance. The motor is strong but the cutting performance is poor and the pivoting head more of a gimmick than functional. I have yet to find a good trimmer that does not rip hairs out and does what it claims.

This bugger has power. The head is a bit larger than most, and it is LOUD. It does an ok job, but not as good as the Panasonic I had before. It doesn't trim as close as I'd like. If the size and attributes of the Panasonic could be combined with the power of the Conair, it'd be perfect.
