just what I needed
on November 14, 2013
I have waist-length, color treated hair that I wear straight. Because my hair is color-treated, it is dry. I get a lot of frizz and flyaways, and I have to use various products to get my hair to stay flat. One of these products needs to be applied to wet hair, and I really needed a brush to help get the product evenly distributed.
Boar bristles (and plastic imitation boar bristles) were not up to the task. I had a nylon bristle brush from another manufacturer that hurt to work through my hair (I do tend to get a lot of tangles). I bought this set and am thrilled with it. The large brush is perfect for working hair products through my wet hair and I think that the even distribution of the products, assisted by this brush, is helping to make my hair stay flatter and smoother.
Neither brush hurts to use; I think the cushions provide a little bit of "give" so the bristles move and don't rip my hair out. I've started using the large brush (and occasionally the small one) as a regular brush when my hair is dry, as well. It's nice to smooth my hair down before leaving the house or once I arrive at work.
I have not noticed any problems with the manufacture of this brush. All the bristles have stayed in over a couple of weeks' worth of use, and my hair can be something of a challenge to brush due to the length and tendency for forming tangles. In the end, I'm quite happy with my purchase and would definitely consider another set or brush from the same line in the future.
