Product Description

Amazon.com Review

You don't need your own hair stylist to change your hair as often as a movie star. The wide triple barrel on this curling iron wraps around hair and creates loose waves for a much more relaxed look than a crimping iron provides. The iron has a chrome-plated finish with matte translucent plastic accents on the handle, barrel release, and knob at the tip of the curling iron (which lets you hold both ends without burning your fingers). Featuring a 6-foot cord, the curling iron can be set from the Off position to either high or low heat once it's plugged in. An indicator dot lights up when the desired temperature is reached and a built-in counter rest prevents the iron from heating up the top of your bathroom vanity or dressing table. This product is UL listed and covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

1.0 out of 5 stars I feel like I've been CONNED by CONair!!!, February 7, 2003

This review is from: Conair SB3CS Triple Barrel Curling Iron (Health and Beauty)
I bought this iron thinking it would be a miracle worker to my slightly thick and very straight hair. I was so excited when I started curling my hair...but as I looked in the mirror, I realized it was all in vain. This iron isn't as great as it's advertised to be. You WILL NOT get BIG DEEP waves. You will get very thin barely noticable waves if anything ALONG WITH A FRIZZY LOOK. You know how some irons will leave your hair in such that if you touch it after ironing/curling it, the hair will get frizzy? Well this does that as well, except you don't even have to touch it for it to look frizzy:( Girls, have you ever braided your hair when it was slightly wet and then hours later taken it out, only to find your hair is unevenly set with waves? Or have you ever dressed up for camaflouge day with the tiny little braids, then taken them out? That's what this iron will do. Except you might burn yourself while attempting the look. Alas, I'm forced to continue looking for a new miracle-worker for my un-stylish hair. This iron does have a high and low setting, and safety features...like the little light that tells you the iron is hot. Big Whoop...it didn't make my hair look awesome with thick deep waves. It looks like I didn't wash my hair out after wearing a braid. But if you do want that look, save yourself the money ladies...just braid your hair and take it out later. I would not buy this iron again!...

4.0 out of 5 stars Use with The Right Products, October 15, 2003

If you use this iron correctly you will get great results. I use a little hair at a time and spray the hair with a soft mist of half water and half Ouidad Styling Mist. This solution sets the hair and makes each section shiny and bouncy and a little stiff. You want the stiffness. After you do the whole head let it rest for 10 minutes and then fluff it up with your fingers. Gently. The slight stiffness will disappear and the curly waves will last a long time. Don't burn your hair. Experiment. It takes a while at first but with experience it will go swiftly. There are other sturdier Triple Irons available, but this one is half the price of the ones that are bigger. You have to experiment, though. And be patient.

2.0 out of 5 stars waste of money, April 10, 2007

it works fine(technically or whatever), but the curls or kinks are too small and close together- it gives you that frizzled look not the glorious waves i was hoping for- i'm back to wearing curlers- i thought this was a waste of money...
