5.0 out of 5 stars Great Steamer
This is a great little steamer. I have bought others similar to this type and they are usually 200 watts and inadequately slow. This one is 400 watts and heats up and starts steaming in 2 minutes. Other types like this spill water or spit water if tipped a little too much. But this one is designed with little dividers inside so it doesn't spill water. Great design...

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless, barely a steamer!
I followed the directions precisely for operating this steamer and it still only produced a tiny, weak stream of steam. It did not remove even the lightest wrinkles in a thin silk shirt. The only good thing is it's travel size, but that doesn't even matter if the thing doesn't work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Steamer, May 26, 2010

This is a great little steamer. I have bought others similar to this type and they are usually 200 watts and inadequately slow. This one is 400 watts and heats up and starts steaming in 2 minutes. Other types like this spill water or spit water if tipped a little too much. But this one is designed with little dividers inside so it doesn't spill water. Great design. Just boils water without a pump or small tubes to get plugged. The 400 watts puts out a very hot good stream of steam which takes the wrinkles right out. Much hotter than the Rowenta 800 watt pump steamer I bought at Kohl's for $50 and clogged within 6 months.

This steamer will put out about 10 minutes of steam per fill of water. The only drawback with this type of steamer is the top part gets hot and you need a towel or something to take off the top to refill it. Not a big issue. The steamer had dual voltage that works automatically. No switch to remember. You will love this affordable steamer. Simple, consistent and trouble free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Steamer for Fondant, October 29, 2010
This review is from: Conair Travel Smart Pro Garment Steamer
I was looking for a small hand steamer for glossing my fondant and found it in this handy little product. Takes a couple of minutes to build up the steam, is easy enough to use (without the brush attachment) and allows the fondant coated cakes to have a great sheen. Purchased with the sole thought of using on fondant, I did try it on some lightweight hanging curtains, hoping it would remove the creases and it didn't seem up to the task. Regardless, it was not purchased for that purpose (although that would have been an added bonus....)

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy, October 13, 2010

Shipping was very fast, and I really liked the price compared to some other hand held steamers out there.
I read previous reviews on this item and took the suggestion of covering the spout with a washcloth while steaming just to prevent water spots from coming out- but honestly I didn't seem to have a problem with water spots shooting out before using the towel anyways. I'm just using it for more fragile items like nice dresses and my wedding dress also. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase =)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product at the price, October 29, 2010
This review is from: Conair Travel Smart Pro Garment Steamer
This is a a great travel steamer for the price. It uses tap water, so it won't spit out black water from the salt as some of the Mall steamers will. It builds up a great head of steam. It's not a power steamer, but you can do enough with it to justify it's cost,(or more importantly, it's weight). It will work well in either horizontal or vertical positions. Easy to fill: put water in the reservoir and tip to drain excess, put the top back on, plug in, wait 2 minutes and go to town. If you don't know how to iron, you probably won't learn with this. Best for taking travel creases out of your clothes.

I purchased this steamer to use as an alternative to ironing while traveling, and to use on items that respond better to steam. It works exactly as I hoped (but note, I didn't expect it to be a complete substitute for an iron.) It heats quickly enough, puts out an adequate amount of steam, construction is sturdy, handle folds flat against the unit, and it comes with a vinyl pouch that will protect the contents of a suitcase from any remaining water when packed. The dual voltage makes it versatile for travel abroad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamer for quick wrinkle elimination, December 3, 2010

works as advertised.

When my Nike or Under Armour pants or T's arrive they are always wrinkled.

Fill the steamer to the first brim. Plug it in. Within 2 minutes you are steaming the wrinkles out of your clothes.

Drain after use, leave it upside down in the sink and let it cool down....about an hour later you can safely wrap the cord around it and put it away.

My old steamer would leave water drops and i had to be careful how i handled it- this one is far superior.

4.0 out of 5 stars Steams Well For Its Small Size, April 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Conair Travel Smart Pro Garment Steamer
I bought this to replace a previous travel steamer that had shorted out after a year of use. This one is about half the size of my other one, so I was doubtful it could pack as much de-wrinkling power. To my surprise, it actually steams quite well, and the smaller size makes it that much more travel-friendly. It heats up in about 2 minutes, and I have yet to have any garment remain wrinkled after a thorough steaming.

While I can't say if it will outlast my other one, it seems to work fine now, and for the price, it's a pretty good little machine. Certainly not for someone who is looking for a professional steamer - this is truly for people who lack the space for an ironing board and/or like to travel with a lightweight steamer.

I produced more steam by breathing on my clothes and neck ties. Don't waste your money. I was very disappointed from Conair, usually pretty good products
