Awww
I really liked this book! Rachel Lee's books never appealed to me, but I found this in a collection of old and used books I bought, tried it out, and loved it. The characters were extremely easy to picture. Relating to them was simple, they were so real. Sometimes it was a tad corny, but it was a small town, after all.

Repetitive
This is a collection of short stories united by a common concern. Unfortunately, these short stories are very similar--I felt as if I were reading the same story four times! I expect a lot of Rachel Lee's Conard County books, so this was particularly disappointing. For me, her Conard County books, especially the first few, are among her very best work. Yet even...

This is a collection of short stories united by a common concern. Unfortunately, these short stories are very similar--I felt as if I were reading the same story four times! I expect a lot of Rachel Lee's Conard County books, so this was particularly disappointing. For me, her Conard County books, especially the first few, are among her very best work. Yet even in her Conard County books I think Ms. Lee is losing the emotional romanticism which makes her older novels so gripping. I look forward to her new books, but will be cautious about buying them.
