Gets the Job Done!
on June 26, 2012
I initially stumbled upon this purse when I was looking for a decent looking conceal-carry purse (it proved a surprisingly difficult task). It's been roughly 3 months since I received the product and so far I am extremely satisfied with the results. That being said, here are some of the pros and cons I have found when utilizing it daily.
Functionality: the purse itself is a decent size and holds everything I normally bring with me. There are two side pockets and one middle zipper divider, which works well for stashing small items.
Quality: The main body of the purse is a nice soft leather, however I was disappointed to discover that leather used for the straps feels much cheaper, and seemed to stretch easily. Initially I was concerned that the straps would not hold the weight of the purse, let alone the weight of the gun I would be carrying, but so far they have held up to daily use, and now I don't even notice them.
Holster: I had to modify the original holster to fit my hand gun, as it was originally was sliding out of the holster (I carry a Ruger SP101). I ended up safety-pinning the bottom of the holster, and I haven't had any problems with it since. The holster velcros into place within the back pocket, and once adhered, stays put. While it is designed for a smaller hand gun, it does fit my boyfriend's full-size 1911, however I would not recommend this because it is a bit challenging to remove from the purse.
Access: There are two zippers, one located on each side of the backside of the purse. While I like that it is ambidextrous, it also means that I must choose one side to carry my purse on at all times. While it is fine the majority of the time, it can be inconvenient when I have to switch sides, as it means that I do not have quick and easy access to my gun if I need it.
Overall I am pleased with my purchase, and would buy it again. Hope this helps with your decision!
