My experience as a Private Investigator has taught me that few of us, in our capacity as fathers, mothers, spouses, friends or citizens have much knowledge or experience carrying a concealed weapon designated for defense. This is not something we have had the opportunity or means to practice on a regular basis - until now. This general lack of experience, training and knowledge can be a severe detriment in the daily practice of concealed carry. My text is intended to provide a pragmatic explanation of the dynamics and controversies surrounding concealed carry and deadly force as well as a better understanding of the personal, equipment, and technological aspects of concealed carry.

More than a guide, this information-packed volume provides insight into the legal and political. Author Bill Quinn, a private investigator in Alaska (the last frontier) knows his stuff. Gun buffs, lawyers, peace officers, and anyone considering carrying a concealed handgun should read "Concealed Carry: A practical guide."
Readers looking for just the nuts and bolts of obtaining a permit and carrying concealed finally have an up-to-date and non-technical source of information. But for those interested, the book goes beyond the basics and discusses a multitude of issues connected to concealed carry. The writing has a well-researched, matter-of-fact feel, and the information is organized for quick-reference.
The carrying of concealed handguns is controversial, but readers on both sides of the controversy will gain satisfaction and comfort from this book.
