This review is from: Conceiving Carolina: Proprietors, Planters, and Plots, 1662-1729 (Hardcover)
Interesting account of earliest European incursion into what is now South Carolina. A study of not just what came to pass, but what was intended or attempted, too. Well documented and a fairly easy read, considering the type of literature. Recommended only for history buffs or those who have an existing interest in South Carolina. Would probably not provide significant insight into the origins of other American Colonies.

This is an accessible, well-researched, and engaging book on early South Carolinian history.
The ease with which this book can be read belies the tremendous research that has been undertaken by the author. |
