5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, January 17, 2007
This review is from: A Conceptual Guide to OpenOffice.org 2.0: Standard Edition (Paperback)
This is a great book for anyone trying to learn how to use an office-type software program. What I especially liked about the book was the easy-to-read, hands on lessons that provided a lot of practical knowledge. Although I liked all of the lessons, the three I especially liked were how to create and format a resume, how to create a personal balance sheet and how to use the database application to create a bulk mailing list. When I recently bought my house, the lesson on personal balance sheets not only taught me how to create one for my loan application but also provided some practical advice regarding the need for a personal balance sheet and how to read the data contained within it. Also, whenever I need to look something up for reference purposes, I have found the quick guides in the back of the book to be very helpful.

I am in the process of buying a house, and the lesson on personal balance sheets not only taught me how to create one but also provided some practical advice regarding the need for a personal balance sheet and how to read the data contained within it. The book is a little pricier than most, but I think it was worth it because the book was extremely useful for not only school work but for creating office-type documents as well.
