This is simply some of the most electrifying singing you're likely hear. Overshadowed by the likes of Callas and Tebaldi, Olivero outlasted them all in a career that spanned 60 years. Excelling in the verismo repertoire, she is known for her riveting characterization and uncany ability to float perfectly placed high notes. If Callas sang with her guts, Tebaldi with her heart, Olivero sing with her soul. The 19 live arias presented on this album are of the highest quality and for live performances comparable to studio recordings. (just listen to the 5 samples)
