this cd is just plain good a lil too short but good none the less, I own one of his other albums and this one does not disappoint and there is a cause too. I can definatly dig it

I gave it as a Birthday gift, and almost two years after that I still hear the person thanking me for it, so I guess it was an excellent choice!!!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The essence of live, January 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: In Concert for a Cause (Audio CD)
This piece captures Marcus and his musical posse of some of the finest smooth jazz musicians to be found anywhere (i.e. David Dyson on bass who also plays with 'Pieces of a Dream'), playing live in what is considered their 'home turf'- the 21st Amendment Club in Washington, D C. It is contemporray, improvisational, and in particluar, capture the feel of a real drummer (no drum programming here folks). This is a must for your Marcus Johnson collection. And, I believe a piece of it goes to a good cause because Marcus Johnson is that phenomenal of a human being as well as an accomplished jazz mega-star.
