5.0 out of 5 stars Walter's Da Man
Along with the Johnny Winter DVD I also received this Walter Trout in Concert DVD today. Feels just like Christmas. Again this DVD is from the German TV show OHNE FILTER-MUSIK PUR. Several of the other DVDs I have purchased are also taken from this same show. The overall quality of the DVD is good. Clear picture and very good 5.1 sound. Would have been exceptional with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great guitarist killed in the mix/edit
Walter is one of the top 10 blues guitarists alive, unfortunately whoever mixed and edited this dvd had the organ and drummer pumped higher than the guitar and the film edit heavily favored the organist. If you''re a blues guitar fan this is worth owning but be warned-there are times you can hardly hear Walter play. A drummer must have mixed the audio.

Several of the other DVDs I have purchased are also taken from this same show. The overall quality of the DVD is good. Clear picture and very good 5.1 sound. Would have been exceptional with DTS, but I digress. Along the lines of Stevie Ray Vaughan or Gary Moore and Johnny Winter, Walter Trout is a blistering, blazing Blues Rock guitar God. The only thing he lacks from the others I mentioned Is the fame. He also has a pretty decent voice and writes really good tunes to boot. If your a fan of this genre of blues music buy this DVD. You won't be sorry you did.

I'm no Critic so I'll get to the point I thought this DVD of Walter Trout and Band was Great , I enjoyed it and only 60 minutes long but a great live performance by Walter Trout and his band playing 8 songs , I can Tell , Take Care of your Business , Life in the Jungle , Frederica (I don't need You) , Running Blues , Finally Gotten over You , Victor the Cajum , and Prisoner of a Dream

I have this dvd & "relentless" also. This is a must edition for any trout fan..an earlier critic said sound was bad & camera man favored the drums & organist..I re watched this & that critic is just being "negative" as critic often are. the camera man is just finding creative ways of capturing "the band".this is an enjoyable concert to view and CRANK IT UP as always.Walter Trout Is The Best Guitarist In The World ! ! ! ! !

5.0 out of 5 stars If you Play, BUY THIS DVD! If you don't, learn by this DVD!, September 1, 2007
This review is from: In Concert (DVD)
OK, as one reviewer wrote, they do spend some time with the camera on the keyboard and drummer, and yes, even the bass player. That's why it is called the Walter Trout Band! Walter's band is tight in this video, as he is in all of his CD's I have heard. If you have even tried to pick up an ax and play or if you are an accomplished player, BUY THIS DVD. Walter is one of the best guitar players ever and even if this concert is getting into the OLD box, it is just pure Walter Trout. Stuff it in your big screen and turn up the surround sound and see what a guitar God can do for 60 minutes!

I have to thank the reviewers here at Amazon for turning me on to this guy. I read several reviews, enough to take a shot with this DVD and I am glad I did.

Wow, this guy and his band blew me away! This is one of the better blues concerts on DVD I have ever seen and heard. Trout, a veteran blues singer and guitar player whom a lot of people might not know about, is solid in both departments (singing and playing.)

I loved all the songs in here and really appreciated the outstanding keyboard work done by Martin Gershewitz (sp) from Cologne, Germany, a late addition to the Trout band. This guy is just great on piano/organ and Trout gives him plenty of space to work. Also solid are bass player (James Trapp, who died recently) and the drummer. I'm sorry didn't get all these guys names. Each is shown their talents with solos on the final song before the customary encore.

This is a pleasing sound because Trout can sing. He's not just one of the world's top blues guitarmen. Great stuff and another good concert from this long-running "Rockapalast" TV series in Germany.

Good Concert video, if you like The Blues, you'll like Walter Trout, I'm sure. He's a "Strat" player with good tone. Good people in the band also.
