Editorial Reviews

Procol Harum are one of the all-time great British Rock groups. Having hit the heights with their first release 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale', a UK #1 in 1967, they have sustained a recording and performing career that stretches over 40 years. This concert was recorded over two spectacular concerts held in the grounds of Ledreborg Castle in Denmark in August 2006. The band were accompanied throughout by the Danish Radio Orchestra and Choir and these epic songs really benefit from the full symphonic arrangements they receive. Features classic tracks from across the band's career including: 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale', 'Homburg', 'Grand Hotel', 'A Salty Dog' and 'Conqusitador. Eagle.

Went to see Jethro Tull in the summer of 2010. The opening act was Procol Harum. I'd seen Tull a few times in the 70's, once in the 80's and then not again until 2010 but I was aware they were around in some form or other all that time. Procol Harum on the other hand I'd not heard of in more than 30 years and figured this must be a reunion tour or something. My wife and I were absolutely blown away by the group! For our money they totally outperformed Tull. During their performance they mentioned this CD and DVD and after thoroughly enjoying the night I decided to grab it. I must be honest I was a bit underwhelmed when I first listened through. There was no Simple Sister and I thought Salty Dog could've been closer to the original. But here I am a year later reviewing it and I've got to be honest here. I have this CD on my mp3 player and listen to it in its entirety at least a few times a week. I absolutely love it. There's something about a full orchestra and chorus that grabs me but when Gary starts singing you realize he hasn't lost a thing from the 60's and if anything he's gotten better with age. I highly recommend this CD.

It was great to see Procol Harum back in aciton. This CD with the Danish National Concert Orchestra and Choir sounds great.I think I like this one better than the one in 1972 with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. If you like Procol Harum you have to have this CD.

A newer live recording by the lead vocalist, Gary Brooker (and others), from one of my all-time favorite bands. A must have for Procol fans (and those with good taste in classic symphony-rock). Contains Procol Harum songs not previously released live.
