Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The first Arabic or Oud Concerto ever preformed. It is truly one of a kind. This magnificent orchestral showpiece blends the traditional with the majestic resonance of the oud and other Middle Eastern instruments. It includes many familiar pieces.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly under the skies of Al-Andalus, December 8, 2002
By Sufyan "The Suf" (Doha, Qatar) - See all my reviews
I have to tell you that me being an arab I am not at all into Middle Eastern music at all. Having said that there is something about Marcel Khalife's work that touched me in a big way.

I came to hear about Khalife whilst watching one of his concerts live on TV, by pure chance i might add, and only for that one time. I made sure it wasn't to be the last i would hear of him.

His music can be described as middle eastern music with a mixture of classical music and a hint of Jazz. The blend works very very well. Very soothing and very spiritual to a degree.

If you like the works of Paco De Lucia, Feiruz or listen to contemporary classical middle eastern music for that matter, this is definitely something you would want to listen to.

I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, November 28, 2005

This review is from: Concerto Al Andalus (Audio CD)
I bought the CD some time ago. I actually did not much about the singer/musician, just got heard from my family members that his songs are cool.

Yes, it is! I love this album. Although the majority of the songs are instrumental, but the songs are beautifully arranged and orchestrated.
