Concierge Medicine was well written but from the perspective of the reader as general public. I was hoping for a perspective from reader as physician wishing to know more about the in's and out's of concierge medicine. In this regard I felt "Concierge Medicine" is definitely not a "how to" read for the MD wishing to create a concierge practice. I would encourage the author to rewrite a version for physician as audience. For the general public, however, I thought I would give it a 4 star rating. Amazon should add an annotation that this is written for the general public.

Concierge Medicine not only gets around the limitations of our current system, it goes beyond - it provides patients with more than they ever got from a doctor before. Beyond treating illness, Concierge Medicine enables the doctor to work with his patients on a proactive basis to enhance and increase their wellness. The doctor teaches the patient how to improve their body and how to fuel it to achieve and keep it at its maximum performance level, the level at which the greatest life-joy is possible to achieve. Should a patient become ill, their concierge doctor will be with them every step of the way, directing their case through specialists and the hospital if these are needed. In short, the doctor becomes a counselor and friend who is there for them before, during and after treatment. The concierge doctor is an enhanced Marcus Welby.

This book validates a perspective on doctor-patient relationships and health care reform largely ignored by the media. A great read.

I read the book before I knew anything about the innovative concept of concierge medicine. This book was incredibly interesting and well written! The topics discussed address all of the relevant issues facing our healthcare system. Dr. Knope's personable writing style involves the reader and provides information for the reader to make their own decision. "Concierge Medicine" is an eye-opening book and a must read in an election year for anyone interested in quality healthcare for themselves and their children.

Dr. Knope's groundbreaking book is destined to change the increasingly pessimistic and hopeless tone of healthcare discussion in this country. Knope masterfully dissects arguments presented as axioms from malpractice attorneys, politicians, and insurers that universal, nationalized health care is the inevitable, singular antidote to today's bastardized healthcare woes.

Dr. Knope's inarguable success in the face of cowardly criticism from "peers" proves a paradigm shift that saliently, yet simplistically, stresses the importance of individual accountability and the primordial sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship. His comprehensive treatment approach explicitly details how anyone can improve their health, their life.

Clear and concise, this inspirational book is a pleasure to read. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all patients looking to improve their quality of life, and to all public figures charged with shaping today's healthcare debate.

This book is written for the general public, but is also worthwhile reading for physicians. Dr. Knope explains what private, or concierge, or personalized, medical care is all about. He describes what this kind of practice can involve, why it is a fast-growing movement in our broken healthcare system, and why it both makes sense for, and is within reach of, many more people than just the "rich and famous". If you consider your health as something of value it makes sense to consider it as something worth investing in. This book represents an important perspective not just in the debate over this type of practice model, but also in the ongoing national discussion about health care reform. I highly recommend reading it.

This book is straight forward and easy to read. The message will change medicine. This is valuable for any type of medical practice, from family care to acupuncture. It is also helpful for the patient to understand the new trend in paying for medical care. One of the biggest problems with medicine today is it is expensive and it does not heal. With the model suggested by this book it changes that scenario, providing the patient with quality time to improve their health at an affordable price.
