This album is another great release for 06', its the sophmore effort, followin up from his debut album: Cult Status.....It has the same blazin production like the 1st one had, his style of bringin raw grimey raps, mixed with a spiritual side to them is still in effect......Traks like 'African Boy' 'Holy Rollers' and 'Death Choir' are excellent examples of this.....The man's lyrics is still somethin no-one is ready for.....Well rounded album, 4.5......Kamach has to be one of Philly's most slept on emcees out there, but eventually this man will get the recognition he deserves in the indie market and in the game......this album is satisfying, more than the first, lyrics have improved from the first time, and has some classic material on here that never gets old......

Deep, thoughtful, passionately powerful words come backed by beautiful production. Just when you think this man has impressed you to the fullest extent of his abilities he surprises you again. Not the typical lyricist you would find in the Philadelphia Circuit. The tracks range from hard hitting murderous tempos to smooth intellectual tracks that leave you deep in thought. Especially if you are from the Philadelphia area and you can relate to some of his overwhelming street tales of project buildings, false promises from evil clergymen, and anything else that you can imagine from the inner city crime rate that affects Philly. If you want to be moved by words, if you want the kind of music that the radio is entirely too afraid to play becaue of it's self awareness and the fact that it's just over all to raw to be comprehended by the average primitive mind then I would advise you to get ahold of this immediately.

Chief Kamachi is part of the underground supergroup, Army of the Pharaohs. As part of an immensely talented collective, it's gotta be hard to stick out - but Kamachi did on The Torture Papers. Alongside Esoteric, Apathy, and Vinnie Paz, all of whom already have cult fan-bases, Kamach is one brightest shining stars in the group. He's also one of the most overlooked, as a lot of hardcore heads would be hard-pressed to know who he is as a solo artist.

Concrete Gospel is his sophomore effort. The title of this album would lead one to believe this is a spiritual expedition, and while Kamach does delve into his spiritual side, it doesn't make up the basis of this album, such as Killah Priest's Heavy Mental. Instead, the foundation for this album is made strictly of concrete; meaning his ghetto tales make up just as much of this album as his religious struggles.

Chief Kamachi is a gruff-voiced emcee from Philly; Philly emcees don't neccessarily have anything tying them together, aside from the fact that they share a lot in common with New York emcees, sans the accent. However, one thing they do have in common is that the majority of them are iller than pneumonia, and Kamach is no exception on the mic. The production on this album is heavy on crunchy guitars, and choir samples; providing an eerie backdrop for Kamachi's equally somber rhymes.

Standouts include Death Choir, Love 4 The Craft, U Try, 777, Scattered Sermons, and Holy Rollers. A dope release from one of Illadelph's finest; pick it up when you see it, as 2006 continues to be a great year for hip-hop, and Babygrande continues to stand out as one of the finest indie labels.
