One of the best electronic music groups I've ever heard. These guys are known in the brazilian underground scene as one of the 'kings' of electronic, like Depeche Mode and New Order, but the sound of Beborn is quite different than the others... It's like Depeche: once you heard it for the first time, it becomes a passion! As fast as a 'blitzkrieg'.

Beborn Beton: deep, silly; angry, poppy; slick, raw,

As with Tybalt, this album will be surprising to new fans who've only heard Fake and Truth. The sound is much rawer, there are distorted vocals, and the lyrics aren't as polished. However, Concrete Ground has a great mix of infectious dance tunes, pretty pop songs, and aggression. The lyrics have their usual collection of poetic angst, silly humor, and sci-fi references--sometimes all in one song. The language barrier still ruins some of their lyrics (especially in the political songs), but most of the songs are good enough that you don't notice the awkward syntax. "Dr. Channard" was one of the most fun songs of 1994, and "Lost Little Robot" is truly brilliant, and that's just the start of the album. Plus, Concrete Ground has Beborn's cover of one of the best synthpop songs of all time, "Being Boiled." New fans should probably start with one of the later albums, but everyone who likes electropop should hear this album at least once.
