Good Basic Test Cramming Guide,

This review is from: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician's Epa Certification Guide (Paperback)
This book is written specifically to help you pass the exam. It's probably possible to pass the exam using only this book. The book is user-friendly, and full of practice tests, as well as a complete closed-book simulated exam. But the book is not organized real well, and it repeats some questions. You should know the answers to those questions well enough. Just hope they are repeated again on the real exam! Overall a good basic guide to passing the test. Not a manual for refrigeration repair.

Good review of basics,

I bought this book, studied it, then took the EPA test and was universal certified. My average score was 94. The book's strengths are the many practice questions and practice exams in the appendix section. The questions did a good job reinforcing the reading material. The only drawbacks are some of the date and regulation (DOT and CFR) questions. I had only a few date questions and no regulation questions on the EPA test. I also think the book could do a better job explaining low pressure systems such as chillers. Overall though, I'd say this book did a good job preparing me for the EPA exam.

Outdated and full of mistakes,

The last printing of this book is 2004. The information is dated. The answer keys are full of errors. Until I take the certification test, I can't be too certain of the quality of this book, but I can be certain that a copy editor was needed before publication. At this point, I feel I've wasted my money simply because of the numerous errors in the book.
