Take a look at the picture.,

If you take a good look at the picture, you'll see what appears to be a belt which fastens via a buckle system. Be aware that no such buckle system is included with your purchase. The actual buckle is most likely a riggers' belt (http://www.amazon.com/Blackhawk-Coyote-Tan-Belt-41CQ01DE/dp/B0019DS8EM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1274480288&sr=8-1). You could buy this or another belt to run through the inside, or jury-rig your own cheap closure system. Inside the belt there are a system of loops that you can run such a belt through to provide yourself with a fastening component. The product itself is about an inch thick and well padded. Also worth knowing before you buy is that the medium size is 39 inches from end to end. Overall I'm satisfied with the product, but I knocked a star off because the image makes it look like it is a complete belt which actually buckles.

Battle belt rating,

First, I love this thing. I keep my grenades, Nightvision pouch, IFAK, smokes, GPS, camera and a few other things on it. It's great for getting some of the weight off your plate carrier or IOTV and onto your waist.
It's got a ton of padding on it, and it's super comfortable to wear- doesn't sit heavy on your hips or bind and chafe. (Unless you're fat- in which case good luck) Two things- First, you need to purchase a seperate belt to wear to insert inside it. Think of it as a sleeve that fits over whatever belt you buy. Your best bet is to buy a Law Enforcement pistol belt that clips in the front and has a secondary push-button release on the buckle to keep it from popping off on accident. The one main drawback to this belt is that there is so much padding, and it is made so loose that the top kind of folds over depending on how much weight you put onto it. It doesn't really detract from its functionality but if you run up and down mountains a lot (which is why you should be buying this in the first place) your pouches tend to flop up and down- the more it does it the more chance you take of your snaps coming undone on your MOLLE gear and losing something. The easy fix is to buy the Condor H-Harness they offer on the same page as the battle belt (look under reccomendations) Just cinch it in to fit comfortably and hang it just high enough to where you're taking out the slack of the top of the belt folding over, but not really bearing a lot of weight because it invalidates the purpose of this thing, which is to take a bit of the weight off your shoulders. In closing- I love this thing. The weight of my plate carrier went down by about 5 pounds or so with all the stuff I moved onto the battle belt, and it enabled me to mount the rest of my gear that I didn't move into configurations that work better for infantry folks. (For instance, I moved my MBITR to one of my side plate faces so I can actually change the channel and turn it on and off by myself, rather than wear it on my back under a camelbak or whatnot.) |
