Product Description

The Condor Summit ZERO Soft Shell Jacket is designed with three layer integrated shell fabric technology with reinforcement on the forearms. The breathable shell wicks moisture from the body, prevents water penetration, while maintaining body heat. Underarm vent zipper to control temp, and multiple pockets are provided for utility and storage. This durable, waterproof, lightweight, breathable fabric contains billions of microscopic pores smaller than a raindrop, but a hundred times larger than a molecule of water vapor. The triple layer combination wicks moisture, stops water from passing through, and circulates body heat.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, he absolutely loves it, it's a lighter jacket so it's perfect since we live in TX. We traveled to Michigan and he also wore in there in 30 degree weather and said it kept him very warm. Sizing runs normal, I just ordered him the size he wears in t-shirts and it fits perfectly. I recommend this product, the jacket was shipped just a few hours after I ordered it and received in just a few days later.

A bunch of us at work purchased this jacket (to go under a plate carrier) in case of cold or rainy weather since our employer only provides our pants and shirt.... And yes, it rains and snows here.... You can consider this a review from at least 3 guys because we all had the same opinions after wearing this jacket, - Seems about 1/2 size small, or maybe its just fitted better than ordinary military ECWCS parkas. The stretchable fabric is awesome - no extra fabric bunched up under armor like the ECWCS shells, and its not restrictive because it stretches. Guys 5'10/195 through 6'2 170 liked the XL cut as far as sleeve length, shoulder width, and torso fit. The softshell material is also alot quieter (even with the Goretex laminate) than the traditional Nylon (it doesn't swish, swish, swish like ski pants). There are underarm and lower back vents if you get too hot with your armor on. Ingeniously, The front pockets are up high, so you can get to them through the upper openings in your plate carrier, and they have numerous smaller pockets sewn inside to hold whatever you want (and disposable handwarmers fit right in). The hood is designed great to fit over a modern compact low profile helmet, and is honestly thin enough to tuck into the collar so you dont notice it (and look like a neck brace)..99% of the time I keep my hood tucked in, but when you need a hood, you need a hood. The velcro areas that are already sewed on the arms is money in the bank... saves you $20 right away. The ONLY thing that I can gripe about this jacket is the main front zipper, BUT, it may not be a problem at all. It is a quite feminine ultra fine micro tooth zipper that seems to be falling in line with current styles.( but honestly belongs on an evening dress).Read more ›

I wear a size L t-shirt and ordered a size L jacket; I'm 5'11"/190 pounds, no beer gut, and I'd describe it as a slim fit-- no good over a vest, but perfect if you want something that won't snag on things or get caught up on backpack straps or slings. The jacket is indeed waterproof and those armpit and back vents are very handy, never had a jacket with them before but can't imagine one without it now! The chest pockets still take a bit of getting used to... I understand the reason for their layout, but all my other jackets have the conventional layout. I have slept in it a few times to gauge the comfort level, and my main gripe would be the stowaway hood-- I feel like I'm wearing a c-collar with this thing! Also, if you plan on sleeping in yours, maybe try for a size up. One more thing: the coyote tan color plus the Velcro make it stand out very much as a military jacket, or at least to me... But then again, if you know what a bug out bag is and EDC a knife or light, you'll notice anybody wearing something like this. I also bought a navy blue one for more "low profile" use, but it just makes me look like an off-duty cop!

There seems to be some confusion on how this jacket is intended to be worn...its a softshell, which means it blocks wind and has very little insulation properties. typically you would wear a wicking base layer and a medium weight fleece under it. size up if you want to wear thicker layers and not look like a sausage roll.

as for the size, i followed advice and ordered a size up from my typical size (between a medium or a large) i'm 5'11, 180, 42" chest under the arms (wide lats/shoulders), 31" waist and I ordered a large. I typically wear a medium in Arc'teryx, mountain hardwear stuff. when in isosceles or weaver-stance the jacket does not pull or ride up on my arms and does not pull at the back. the arm length is nice and long. collar is huge and doesn't come close to fitting my 16.5" neck. I can literally fit my head through it when its zipped all the way. its a little boxy...bigger guys may appreciate this, but i don't. it bunches up under my plate carrier and is rather annoying. if you want a more technical fit, order the size you are. its size and fit is along the lines of any northface fleece or softshell that i've owned. the large is about perfect for me in the shoulders, but is a little baggy in the center. remember, its a softshell, it'll stretch with your movements.

BUT for 80 bucks, its bomber bomber enough. the material is stretchy and it'll block some wind. its a soft shell, not a rain jacket...so i don't consider it water proof, or even resistant. If you are going to be in the rain, buy a gore-tex. the soft shell material will absorb water after you either 1. touch it, or 2. have any more than a sprinkle fall on you. I would not recommend it for snowy conditions either for this reason.
