Instrument is wonderful. A pad under the far pinky came off which was not a big deal. My only issue with this package was the case. We've had the instrument since Sept, and the case is falling apart, a whole side came off already. Need to go out an purchase a new case, which is not cheap. Happy with the flute, just not with the case.

this was my first flute and i really love it. it's price and quality really great. its suitabe for beginners and it's tune is so relaxing but be sure to take care of it and clean it after playing it regulary
I RECOMMEND BEGINNERS TO PURCHASE THIS !!

This flute is the best I have ever had. It took some adjusting to because I was used to using Yamaha. This flute is a strudy one and I hadn't had any problems with the flute since then. Also I'm in Middle School.

Arrived in short order and in fine condition. Played in Elementary School Music Class. Sounds fine, easy to assemble and clean. Fits the bill for an economical price. My 4th grade musician loves it.

Update Aug 2010: Still love the product. Sectors inside case detached, repaired them with gorilla glue and they've held fine. Stay on top of cleaning exterior after each use or finish will dull/tarnish easily. Still highly recommended.

I bought this for my daughter for her first flute and she is in love with it. She takes private lessons, and the teacher highly recommended this flute as an upgrade from the one we were renting. It is a great investment for my child's future.

Two issues:
1. No handle on the carrying case - I cannot believe someone actually designed this! How would a kid carry this around?
2. My daughter also complained that the high notes were much harder to produce compared to the more expensive rental flute she used for 2 years - we switched to the Signature Music 2810N Closed 16-hole Flute (it HAS the handle on the carrying case). Now she is happy (at least for now)

This is a great flute for the price (I paid $119!) It is very sturdy and produces great sound. I've received compliments from my flute instructor on it. The case is fairly pointless as I keep my flute assembled unless I'm traveling. It would be nice if the case had a handle, I don't understand why it doesn't. The lack of handles on the case is my only complaint, the flute itself is great.

My daughter owned a Yamaha student flute (which she lost). Not wanting to pay that kind of money again, I searched and searched the internet for a better deal than this. Silver plated, great sound, and overall quality for the price makes this a great deal.

This is one of the best purchases of musical instruments I've made in a long time. From the very beginning, I contacted The Instrument Store with some questions. The customer service was nothing short of immaculate. They answered all my questions with professionalism, friendliness, and respect. The flute came promptly, and I had no problems. The flute was exactly what I was looking for. Plays and sounds GREAT! I highly recommend this flute and the Instrument Store!

Hey, folks, no handle on the case (by the way, it's called a French case) is so it will fit in a convenient Protec carrying case that holds flutes, piccolo, music stand, water bottle, ... I don't want a handle on my flute case that would make it not fit & have to carry everything separately.
