Story

Waking up on an offshore oil rig Michael Ford recalls the escape that he was able to pull off at the conclusion of the original game, The Conduit. At that point it was made clear that things were not as he had been led to believe. The shadow government that he was once an agent of had in fact been coopted by an alien agenda unleashed by a man he once trusted, while the alien Drudge forces although still a deadly force, came to be seen as not quite the single-minded terror that they once seemed. But that was DC and this was another place entirely. Ford's mastery of alien conduit technology provided for his escape, as well as a second chance not only to save the human race, but also to exact revenge for the double cross that made him a pawn in a game whose players are only now becoming visible.

Targeting a Drudge enemy at close range in Conduit 2
Continue the battle against the Drudge horde and uncover the truth behind their invasion.

Gameplay

Like the original The Conduit game, Conduit 2 is a FPS developed specifically for the Wii platform, with players again stepping into the boots of series hero Michael Ford. Gameplay is mission-based with Ford in pursuit the alien Adams/Enlil, the betrayer of the US and the world from the first game. To do this players will take advantage of an improved arsenal of weapons and weapon features, the puzzle-solving ability and all-around guidance of the levitating handheld device known as the All-Seeing-Eye (ASE) and of course alien conduit technology that allows Ford to travel to the game's different physical environments. Additional features that impact gameplay include: much more expansive, nonlinear game levels, many of which allow for multiple paths toward a set endpoint; environments that are able to be altered or destroyed by Ford or his enemies in order to survive conflicts and succeed in battle; the addition of larger than life bosses to the alien Drudge hordes that pursue Ford; improved overall control response and support for the Wii MotionPlus accessory; and extensive multiplayer functionality including co-op support up to four players with split screen functionality, 12-player support online and online chat via the Headbanger headset (sold separately).

Key Game Features

  • All-new 4-Player Split-Screen Battles - Fight side-by-side on the same screen with up to four friends in the new Team Invasion Mode.
  • Intense Online Multiplayer Action - Master new maps and modes for up to 12-players. Customize characters and weapon load outs.
  • The Next Level of Wii Shooter - Play single, co-op and competitive modes, epic battles across the globe, boss fights, destructible environments, upgraded graphics and more.

  • Play It Your Way - Create your character's unique look with the modular armor system and selectable skins; utilize a class system with pre-mission weapon load-out and suit upgrades; and gain currency to purchase new weaponry, armor, upgrades, and additional content.
  • Advanced Weapons and Technology - Features an arsenal of over 20 weapons, including wall-penetrating sniper rifles, remotely-controlled deployable turrets, and alien technology that captures incoming fire and unleashes it back on the enemy. Man fixed emplacements at fortified positions and on drop ships. Use the alien ASE (All-Seeing-Eye) device to hack electronics and uncover hidden traps and enemies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slightly flawed, but good overall. December 9, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The saga of Secret Service Agent Michael Ford continues. When we last saw Mr. Ford (The Conduit) he had just stopped Adams's plan to destroy DC and stepped into an open Conduit into the unknown. This game picks up exactly where the first left off, Michael emerges on a Trust controlled offshore oil rig off "The East coast of Florida" (also known as The Bermuda Triangle) that is being attacked by a massive mechanical serpent called Leviathan. This game spans the globe from DC to England, China to Siberia as you piece together the threads of the Invasion and you learn Michael's true destiny.

The game Controls have been improved and utilise the Wiimotion Plus and aside from a few glitches (such as getting stuck behind trees) it's worth the price. I was disappointed that the original voice cast (Ford: Mark Shephard, Adams: W. Morgan Shephard and Prometheus: Kevin Sorbo) didn't return but other than that I highly recommend this game.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
OVERALL:
It's got lot's of nice features, but some missions in the campaign you could tell where thrown together to save time. HVS had to push the release date back twice on this game, and apparently some things had still been rushed, but the environments you go to are really varied. I'm going to go over all the features.

CAMPAIGN:
The campaign was average FPS length, and had lots of cool hidden items. The hidden items gave you clues about aliens being in human history and such like the Nazi bell. Unfortunately you can not replay the levels that are in the different areas of Atlantis (Atlantis is like a safe house between missions.) All though the hidden items are really cool, they are way to easy to find. Also it would have been nice to be rewarded for beating the game in the hardest difficulty.

INVASION MODE(1-4):
Invasion Mode was okay, but got boring, because the maps are small and there are only three of them. It was really nice that it had 1-4 players. The graphics in invasion mode where drastically reduced.

VERSUS MULTIPLAYER ONLINE(2-12) AND LOCAL(2-4):
It was really nice to have the versus multiplayer online and split-screen. The graphics in split-screen where reduced as well. It had lots of maps and modes to play in!

STORE AND PROFILE:
The profile and the store are really big improvements. There is lots of varied weapons, upgrades, characters, and armor parts you can get in the store. The profile let you edit your character and load out which you can use in all versus multiplayer, campaign, and invasion mode! You can also see the achievements you unlocked here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conduit 2 February 28, 2012
By CrazyJo
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I played this game a while back, and I have to say that it is one of the best Wii games that I own. There are many reviewers who obviously didn't finish the game or even try to make an honest review, so this game was shot down by the game sites. However, if you look at what the gamers actually thought of this game, you'll see that many people liked this game and deserves at least an 8/10.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Wii FPS for Multiplayer February 14, 2012
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
If your looking for a good FPS campaign, :( try the first game in this series, The Conduit. But for online multiplayer this is the best game you'll find on the Wii. Voice chat, perks, plenty of guns and multiplayer maps, customizable characters, & more :O. This game also has 4-Player local multiplayer and an Invasion mode kinda' like survival where you try to fight off hordes of enemies with a friend locally. The game also supports wiiMotion+ if you have it. The online store lets you purchase items such as gear for your character model, more perks and guns to customize your weapon loadouts for online use, preset costumes and colors for your character, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars A GOOD FPS, CUT & MEASURED FOR THE Wii April 29, 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
The NINTENDO Wii is not the most powerful console, quite the opposite in fact. No matter, it enjoys most of the best designed games, games that, above anything else, offer great fun. And CONDUIT 2 is an excellent example of this.

WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT WHAT YOU GET
As expected, although impressive for a Wii game, the graphics are not the game's strong point. The backgrounds are very artfully done whereas a lot of work seems to have gone into the graphics as well - however, the overall visual result is nothing to impress a gamer with some PC experience. Nevertheless, only a novice would allow this to prevent him from enjoying the game.

THINK WHILE YOU SHOOT (NOBODY ELSE WILL)
The creative level design more than makes up for what the graphics lack. More often than not there are multiple possible routes to your objective. Pair that with enemies driven by an AI with the IQ of Forest Gump, and you have an FPS where it is fun to explore the expansive map and try new approaches.

FIRING ALIEN ...BUGS & POULTRY
The game offers a selection of weapons, from the futuristic shotguns and sniper rifles to alien...creatures (which are the most interesting by the way). Controlling your character will take some tweaking of the Wii-Remote sensitivity but once you get the hang of it the fun begins. Just make sure to master the controls by the time you reach the first boss because boss fights offer a much greater challenge.

WHY SO SERIOUS?
Contrary to most FPS games which strike serious tones and dwell in gloomy environments, CONDUIT 2 is a much more playful game. If it were somewhat longer (expect 8-10 hours of gameplay) and it sported a more challenging AI it would had been very good.
