I am looking for a systematic approach to glazing. It is a complex and chaotic subject, and this book does not easily meet my needs. No index? Many recipes with no picture of how they look? For some, it will be a book of interest, perhaps someone who knows much more than I do already.

I often make my own glazes and are interested in new recipes and tips for firing at cone 5/6. This particular book goes beyond satisfactory. It is filled with helpful and new ideas and recipes for the beginner as well as the professional ceramist. I appreciate and value the authors compilations of information in this book. Thank You.

The book has many reliable recipes and pictures that accurately show the results of the fired glazes. Definitely one of the best books out there.

Excellent book with many sample photos and corresponding glaze recipes for a wide range of cone 6 slips, engobes and glazes for a mid-fire to high-fire look.

It gives lots of instruction, hints, recipes, and photos. I love that many of the top potters are sharing their recipes and their methods of testing, refining and changing their glazes. I think it's a must-have for any potter who is making her own glazes or for any who want to learn how. Well done, informative, and easy to follow. Love it.
