First effort,

This review is from: Confederate Colonel and Cherokee Chief: The Life of William Holland Thomas (Paperback)
CONFEDERATE COLONEL AND CHEROKEE CHIEF is a truly laudable first published research effort on the life of Will Thomas. Though it lacks the multi-sourced documentation/research of Thomsen's REBEL CHIEF and at times seems to come across more as a dissertation overview rather than as a "readable biography" it is nonetheless a pioneering work of note.
One only wishes that the edition was sturdier and more reader friendly in layout and typeset.

This review is from: Confederate Colonel and Cherokee Chief: The Life of William Holland Thomas (Paperback)
After reading "Thirteen Moons", I was curious about how this book related to that story. The work of fiction parallels this actual account of the life of William Holland Thomas. I was also curious about the name "Holland" and if there might be some connection with our family. So far, there doesn't seem to be any relationship, but my genealogy research may turn up something. Another reason I was interested in these books, is my childhood friend in Oklahoma is descended from the Cherokees who removed to Oklahoma from North Carolina.
