Based on some of the reviews, we figured to give this a try. In theory it is a nice idea, it is a simple plastic paddle with some plastic locking caps. Maybe this will work for some, but for our in-ground pool - it was worthless. Took 20 minutes to get a tight fit, and even then it was iffy - the plastic caps just can't be hand tightened too much on tile, especially if there is a sloped area leading into the skimmer. It did nothing, the small crud floating on the pool surface floated up to the paddle, and then eventually floated around the paddle, but not into the skimmer. Maybe if you have a really strong pool current this would capture and/or move crud into the skimmer, but it was a complete failure for us- and yes, we did follow the directions if anyone is wondering. Maybe it would work on larger debris like leaves and such, but for insects and small floaties - nothin!
