More About the Author

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book, despite the fact that the main character, Bella Hunter, is unlikeable. Bella is a beauty writer for a famous fashion magazine and is, to say the least, very spoiled. She's spoiled by her lifestyle and the perks her job brings, and she's used to getting her way and having it done right now, until.. she loses her job in a very disastrous way. It's a lot of fun to see Bella taken down and to completely readjust her life and lifestyle. The journey towards a new Bella is really fun, and by the end I was definitely more interested in her character. I think the author did a really good job of crafting a story about a character with many personal faults/failings and yet somehow still manages to get you involved with her story. And, she didn't leave out the romance either. If there is any fault with the book I'd say it's the ending - for some reason it felt too neatly wrapped up and rushed. The story deserved a much better ending.

I took this book with me on vacation to Mexico (paperback, so it was great by the pool). It was such a great read! I really felt like I was there alongside Bella through the entire ordeal. It's a pretty thick book, but don't be intimidated, it's a very easy read. I loved it! I highly recommend it!

Confessions of a Beauty Addict is a fantastic read for anyone who appreciates the Chick Lit genre now and again... Bella Hunter is a very likable heroine and Nadine is a great writer- she had me laughing out loud several times throughout the book! A good read- and good fun.

I started reading Confessions of a Beauty Addict on a Friday night and by Sunday afternoon I had finshed. Such a cute story with developed characters and bonus beauty tid bits.
I highly recommend this book to chick lit readers everywhere.

Just finished this book and I loved it. A fun , breezy read but with some good messages tucked away in there.

You'll love all the name dropping of beauty & fashion brands, and it gives great insight to the magazine industry , of which the author has first hand knowledge.

At the back of the book are great beauty tips, and a bit more of the author's own amazing story of how she came to be who and where she is today. Great extras that enhance the book.

What a fun first "chick lit" story from Nadine Haobsh -- beauty gossip, romance, coming of age. And as an older reader, I loved the women at Womanly World and how they changed Bella for the better! But the most fun for me was her product mentions during the book, a continuation of her first book, Beauty Confidential. Nadine, aka, Jolie, is always honest and up front about what products WORK. I'm ordering my Nickel Eye Gel right now!

Format: Paperback
Twenty-eight year old Bella Hunter destroys her career as the beauty expert when she opens her mouth while intoxicated to a New York Post reporter. Her dissing of colleagues leads to the columnist being fired from her job at Enchante magazine. However, her former boss and mentor Larissa "Riss" Lincoln gets Bella a position as beauty expert columnist at Womanly World, a magazine that caters to her mom and grandma.

She feels out of place at her new location and struggles with her boss Frances McCabe, but feels good about her assistant Megan Murphy. As she tries her best to accomplish the mission of making Womanly World the "Chic" for wives and moms, the magazine's editor James Michael initially believes she is a pretty face without one pixie of a brain cell; however, her enthusiasm and efforts coupled with creative ideas make him reconsider his first opinion of Bella. She on the other hand cannot speak above third grade English whenever he comes near her.

Initially readers and James will dislike and disdain Bella as being snobbishly chic (hiding her Ohio and hair roots) and too stupid as a motor mouth when she scorns Womanly World to Megan at the office. However, over the course of the story line, fans and James will warm towards the lead character as she tries to be helpful to others and accomplish her mission for the magazine. Fans will enjoy the catty (that includes males for the unenlightened) wars between those working in the beauty magazine realm.
