Book Description

Commercial fisherman in the morning. Actor at noon. Hunter in the evening. Professional boulder roller by night. Can these four competing personas ever find equilibrium in one man before insanity ensues? Will the actor soften the hands of the fisherman, making it nigh impossible to pull a line? If the lines between the boulder roller and the hunter cross, will a rock get shot? The answers can be found within the pages of “Confessions of Boulder Roller.”

“The author has a way with words that makes you feel what his characters are going through.” Bon Rose, Arizona

“'She' demonstrates the author's ability to deftly switch from gritty real-life adventure to the internal musings of a poet.” Joni Berte, Michigan

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful! January 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Hans Henriksen's writing is engaging and refreshing. I'd never heard of boulder rolling (and my dad and brothers are hunters) and I loved the twist at the end. The other stories in this collection are also terrific.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some fun reading! January 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an eclectic group of short stories that should have something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the hunting stories. I liked the way that the deer kept incrementally gaining weight as it was being dragged out from the woods. This is a phenomenon I have experienced first hand. I also learned a thing or two about being an extra on the set of a TV show, which I always thought would be a fun experience. This book was well worth reading, and a lot of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why a boat is called a "SHE" January 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love this story. I could visualize a boat and the shapes and curves of "her" as you told the story. A man's love was truly expressed. It was a captivating story and kept me reading and wanting more. I would recommend this to anyone, especially those who enjoy the ocean, or just being in the water! AWESOME! Great story Hans

More About the Author

Hans Henriksen (1963-) is happily married to just one wonderful woman, but wonders at times if she is married to him or her Harley. Born into a fishing family in the scenic coastal village of Coos Bay, Oregon, he learned commercial fishing and boatbuilding from his father. Writing he learned out of a necessity to release his imagination. He is an Alaskan fishing captain who enjoys riding with his wife, backpacking, hunting and sailing in his spare time.

While writing humorous short stories loosely based on the events of his life has always been fun, writing his first fantasy novel (where he used his children as the main characters) was a rewarding educational challenge. As he turns over the sequel to "The Scrying Pool" in his head, he is working on a murder mystery.

Events from his life have not only been the inspiration for his stories, some of those same events were his mom's inspiration for her writing classes in college. She swears she would never have graduated without his exploits.
