And that's the key to this book: it's 40 STORIES written in the first person so it's quite engaging.

There are even people in this book who ended up getting a divorce because they were so addicted to caffeine it ruined their relationships.

I have an addictive personality and believed I am a caffeine addict or on my way to becoming one. Reading this confirmed I am on the caffeine addicted spectrum but very low.

Reading these stories of how caffeine can wreck people's lives gave me fresh perspective. And that's the key to this book: it's 40 STORIES written in the first person so it's quite engaging.

What was also interesting is how many of these folks have not eliminated caffeine entirely, but have ratcheted down their consumption to a reasonable level.

Before reading "Confessions of a Caffeine Addict" I had no idea so many people were struggling with addiction to Red Bull, soda, tea and coffee. These things seem fairly tame when consumed a few times a day. They can however cause havoc to your health when consumed obsessively throughout the day.

In this book you will read about a truck driver who abuses caffeine and almost ends up having a terrible accident. You will learn how carbonated beverages can cause kidney stones. There are even people in this book who ended up getting a divorce because they were so addicted to caffeine it ruined their relationships.

It is amazing that some of the people in this book were still alive to write their stories. "Confessions of a Caffeine Addict" is truly a book filled with cautionary tales. If you experience a lot of migraines or have health problems you might want to read this book immediately if not sooner. Your life could depend on it!

After 14 years of caffeine abstinence, I'm still inspired by an individual's story of addiction, the necessary desperation that leads to the first step, and their journey to recovery. I enjoyed this book because it had some very special stories that hit the bottom of my heart, my stomach, my toes and gave me goose pimples all over. Although it's the kind of book I might reread, when I'm finished I'll probably pass it on to someone that I think needs to read it and hope it keeps getting passed along until it's worn out. Should be required reading in schools. This book won't go out of style.

I don't even know where to start. I've been a coffee drinker for 10 years and went cold turkey about two weeks ago. I looked desperately for a support group and was fortunate to find this book. I tried tea but it seemed to not help despite lower caffeine. So I'm quitting completely! I would highly recommend it for anyone that is thinking about quitting coffee and all other caffeinated products.
