I enjoy reading every book that comes out that contains stories, anecdotes, etc. told by doctors and other medical professionals. I especially like the humorous ones which is what I expected this book to be. What a huge disappointment! A large portion of the "stories" have already been told at least once in other books. Another large portion of the stories are simply not interesting or funny.
To top it off, the author even admits at the beginning of the book that he can't vouch for the authenticity of the stories! He doesn't know which are real and which are just jokes or folklore. So essentially, he put together a collection of stories from various sources without doing any research as to their accuracy and without reading similar books written before to check for repetitiveness. The book is unoriginal, uninspired, and a waste of time and money. I gave up less than halfway through. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because there were at least a handful of mildly funny stories I hadn't heard before.

Fun and Games in the ER!,

Humor is where you find it. In the case of CONFESSIONS OF EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTORS, authors Rocky Lang and Erick Montero found it in emergency rooms and hospitals across the globe. Lang and Montero's book is a collection of short stories featuring medical goofs, gaffes, weird experiences and even weirder patients. Perfectly priced at $9.95, it will leave you alternately laughing, chuckling or shaking your head in amazement.
CONFESSIONS OF EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTORS includes sections on strange patients/occurrences in the ER, medical slang, poorly written medical records, medical acronyms, strange doctor names, medical news from around the world and medical facts. A sampler of what awaits the reader: ER PATIENTS: A 46-year old man comes into the ER with a burned ear and cheek. He had been watching the Stanley Cup while his wife was doing the ironing close to the phone. Yup, you got it! Phone rings, guy reaches over, grabs the iron and... MEDICAL RECORDS: "She stated that she had been constipated for most of her life until she got a divorce." STRANGE DOCTOR NAMES: Dr. Dick Dick. MEDICAL SLANG: "Circling the Drain" (i.e expected to die soon). While CONFESSIONS OF EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTORS isn't a mandatory purchase, it is fun, informative, sometimes unbelievable and occasionally disgusting. I thought it was a hoot. Recommended.

I found this book and the stories a tad boring. Am a former nurse and it just didn't hold my interest. Perhaps others will like it more.

This book is really entertaining and laugh out loud funny. People are so strange and probably never stranger then when they are in the E.R. It's a good airplane book or vacation book. With the holidays coming up this is a great book to give as a gift.

Skip it.,
This review is from: Confessions of Emergency Room Doctors (Kindle Edition)
This book has perhaps 6-10 items that are of any real value. ther rest are strange storys with no real meaning and old jokes and urban myths that have been debunked for quite some time. I was appalled at some of the insensivity towards patients (particulary the mentaly unstable and elderly) in this text.
Additionally the kindle versions has more typos than I could keep track of. I'm not sure if this is an error in conversion or proofreading. Either way this book is not agood value!

Not really worth the money,

This book is very funny, don't get me wrong. Many of the "stories" are Urban Legends, so you may be fimiliar with many of them if you read Snopes and the like. The book is small and on the thinnish side, not really worth the money since most of these funnies can be found elsewhere for free.

Funniest book EVER!!!!,

Every story in this book is so funny and interesting that I found myself reading it aloud to whomever was near. "You have to hear this!" I said over and over again. If laughter is the best medicine, read this and live to 100 . . . great gift for anyone on your list, but buy extra copies because everyone who reads it will want one of their own.

Amusing, occasionally hilarious and bizarre, this book is an engaging peek at what REALLY goes on behind-the-scenes. Very entertaining.
