Book Description

A glimpse into a life less ordinary from one of the world's most prolific BASE jumpers and infamous party animals, Chris 'Douggs' McDougall. This riotous and often touching life story gives an insight into the world of hyper extreme sports where death lurks at every corner. Douggs faces the challenge armed with a case of beer, a wry sense of humour and an attitude that catches the authorities flat-footed.

Truly one of the most entertaining books out there, whether you're a BASE jumper, skydiver, partier, all of the above or none of the above and just looking for insight into the life of one of the most interesting and unique specimens those lifestyles have produced. This book is a real page-turner with lots of funny and crazy stories to be sure, but also poignant reflection and humanizing moments that inform on the ramifications of living life on the edge. Pick up a copy, you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Joyful audacious stupidity. August 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Douggs didn't choose a road less travelled, he went completely off-road, living his life and risking his neck to live his life to the fullest. By doing the things that scared him silly, he discovered that the doorway to joy and freedom is frequently ringed with ball-withering fear, and that pushing through that fear was the admittance fee to a soaring freedom which made life worth living.

Chris view point of view of the sport is amazing, the way he progresses in the multiple disciplines is just awesome and the detail level he provides is also great. All in all just an awesome book for both the experienced skydivers/base jumpers and for the fellow who's trying to gain some knoledge before jumping into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome. A must have. Buy this now. October 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is absolutely amazing. I've read the paper version twice. Douggs (the author) is just an amazing character. I couldn't put it down. It takes you through his highs and lows as he sets out on a mission to have the most fun ever. It's not for the faint hearted but is a book that you will not want to miss out on. From BASE jumping to the most outrageous carnage and parties there's just too much fun involved. If you're a potential skydiver or BASE jumper this should certainly be put on your reading list. If you're someone that just likes to live life then this is also for you. One of my favourite all time books.

This book is an awesome read!!! By far one of my favorite skydiving related books ever written!! Here's the deal though, if you don't like hearing an opinion that probably doesn't match yours or stories about drugs, sex, death, politics and religion in everyday, uncensored language, this book is not for you. However, if you have an open mind to other peoples' opinions and like to hear some awesome stories, then grab this book!! "Douggs" is very upfront and blunt with his info, but in the same sense, he is very entertaining with it also. I became a big fan of Douggs after reading this book. This book was actually a free loaner with my Prime account, but I'm going to buy it so I can read it again in the future. It is that good of a book to me.

Douggs continually pushes the boundaries of what we can achieve, hurtling through the air. His story was impossible to put down. And written in a way that an Aussie, like myself, can have a giggle over. Thanks for sharing a small part of your massive life, Douggs, and I'm hoping you continue to carve up the place for a long time to come.
