As a James Patterson fan, I was extremely disappointed in this book. There was no resolution to any of the characters. It felt like he'd written an outline, filled in a few places and left the reader hanging.

Disappointing. The saga of the Angel children continue but they might as well be floating toys in a stream buffeted by forces they can't control and can't see. Tandy doesn't even solve a mystery in this book. She just gets attacked repeatedly from vicious and stupid adults. Harry's on drugs, Hugo is clueless and all the adults are monsters.

CONFESSIONS: The Paris Mysteries, by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. I have read more than 50 James Patterson books—Paris Mysteries has to be the worst. To start with one must admit the Angel children are a bit weird, not surprising though having descended from even stranger parents. I forced myself to read to the middle of the book, and then I gave up. The book might better be sold as the Paris Rip-offs. I’m hard-pressed to give this book a weak 2 on a scale of 5. Don’t waste your time.

Really enjoy the series, this one was no exception. However I found the end to be a inconclusive. I know it's setting up the next book, but it was very abrupt. Otherwise, well done.

I have to admit that I think the Confessions series is a bit weird, especially since it is known that the kids' parents fed them (unknowingly) mood, mind, and body-altering drugs, which has caused each Angel kid to block off their emotions, well except for anger. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy reading the series, but with each new book, the weirder the storyline gets, but I guess that is what the authors attended to do that way the readers will look forward to the next book in the series. And guess what? The third installment doesn’t exactly tie up the drama, actually it expands on it and leaves the reader asking more questions about what is going on. Overall, Confessions: The Paris Mysteries has plenty of mystery and suspense to satisfy most fans of the series, but I do recommend new readers to read the first book in the series as jumping right into the this novel will make your head spin a bit.

I have been struggling with Patterson for a while now. Many of his books feel... pieced together, predictable, or not even entertaining.

But still I find myself reading them.. go figure.

I will say this series is not too bad. It is still semi predictable and has those very childish moments, but I seem to like the underlying storyline. The main character is likable. Her situation is something that I find intriguing.

What I want to for Patterson to drop those childish moments. These books are designed for young adult readers, but they scream middle school when he throws in the childish situations and conversations. Just stop doing it!

Then there is the fact that he feels the need to do what I call multiple storylines. He always has the "main storyline" then there is a "side storyline". It happens in all his books. Predictable. Also very annoying because the side storyline always feels thrown together and used to just take up page numbers.

The main storyline with this book was actually good. Tandy finds herself in Paris trying to uncover some of the family secrets. She is looking into the mysterious death of her older sister. While uncovering small facts she discovers disturbing secrets her family has been harboring for years.

The book is worth checking out. It is a simple, easy read that provides for some lite entertainment.

Excellent book. Always enjoy Patterson books. Had forgotten about the characters in this one from the last confessions book. The way it was written was just enough background to jog the memory. Can't wait for the next Confessions book. Patterson's books are always hard to put down once you start.

NOT mysteries... Mystery. Sigh. That was the only thing I disliked...
Well, I take that back kind of...TANDY ANGEL. Who is this chick, and what has she done with the real Tandy Angel? Because this was definitely not her. For the first half in particular, this girl was overly whiny, unobservant, annoying and just plain stupid. I loved Tandy in the first two books, but I was having trouble liking her at all in this one. She seemed like an entirely different person. I mean, the second half of this book, she was more like her old self, but for the first half I was completely alienated by the new Tandy. Her constant suspicion of EVERY SINGLE PERON EVER got old really fast. SO fast. There were some promising concepts thrown in, but none of them seemed to get resolution. Does Tandy think to ask Katherine about the thing with Uncle Peter? NOooO of course not. And what about the aging thing Tandy found out about, with the pills? That could've been taken so many places, but again, it almost seemed like she forgot about it by the end of the book. And I was surprised by some of the idiotic decisions she made. You find out your uncle, who lives in New York, wants to kill you and your whole family? I know what to do! Let's go back to New York! Because plot! WILL SOMEONE SMACK THIS GIRL'S PERSONALITY BACK INTO HER HEAD? Ok, that's not nice but seriously... Smack her.

Oh... And hello..Excuse me, who is this boyfriend-stealer? We saw two TOTALLY POLAR OPPOSITE personalities of this girl in The Paris Mysteries. There was the funny, supportive girl from the phone call, and the cheater/boyfriend stealer, who was a COMPLETE JERK with zero regrets over stealing her ONLY FRIEND IN THE WORLD's boyfriend, and who proceeded to rub this fact in Tandy's face. I don't understand...what happened here? How did C.P.
