5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and original
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, adventurous and definitely original. With all of the same old, same old out there it's great to find something that isn't completely predictable. A good light read that didn't disappoint!

This was a really fun book to read. I'm glad that a friend of mine suggested it to me. The characters were easy to relate too and it was well written.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Lazy Afternoon Escape, July 27, 2006

Loved this book - a real guilty pleasure. Deep? No. The plot is formulaic, but the way she twists the details made me continually curious as to how she would play with this formula. I'm a mom and a sci-fi fan- a great book for fantasy loving moms. Also, I could relate to her deep concern for children and wanting to make the world a better place. I share the fantasy. Highly recommended beach read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cleanup on Aisle 5....., May 11, 2007
This review is from: Confessions of Super Mom (Mass Market Paperback)
I felt this was a fun read. I had a little trouble getting into it at first, but then I kept wanting to read more. Not a bad first novel. As a mom, I know that I want to save my kids from evil and how cool would it be to have super powers that enable you to do that? Scary too I ould imagine.

Definitely worth checking out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Faster than a cup of coffee, more powerful than a blog carnival . ., October 10, 2006

(REAL NAME)
I picked this book up because of the cover and because my daughter has been obsessed with superheros her whole life. The story is a page-turner, tugging at themes that, as parents, we all struggle through--negotiating our consumer oriented, media saturated world, family dynamics etc. The tongue-in-cheek, slighty "noir" style of writing increases the sensation that such a story really could happen to you, if only certain things fell into place.

It was a wonderful, uplifting fun read that I have been recommending to everyone. I am also really hoping for a sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars funny and sharp, June 13, 2006

"Confessions of Super Mom" is charming and amusing, with a disarmingly likable cast of characters. The book playfully dissects the conventions of super-hero comics, while also incorporating the realities of raising teenagers; and Hauser does it all with wisdom and a pop-culture savvy. Thoroughly entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why should kids have all the fun!, October 28, 2005
Huge thanks to Melanie Lynne Hauser for giving us moms what we deserve--our very own super hero. Smart, funny and surprisingly poignant, CONFESSIONS OF SUPER MOM introduces us to divorced mother Birdie Lee, who, after a ghastly Swiffer accident, discovers that there's no mess too huge, no child too unruly for her to conquer. But Birdie's powers don't stop there, and before the book is through, she's thwarted evil and saved the children of her town from corporate greed gone mad. Along the way, she reconnects with her teenage children and even finds the love she deserves. This story has enough heart and humor for any book-loving mom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Humor and Laughter!, September 10, 2005
I really enjoyed, "Confessions of Super Mom." Melanie's great humor shined through almost ever page. If anyone has ever caught themselves juggling between soccer practices, a hundred loads of laundry, and cooking a family meal by midnight, they will love this book. So skip the laundry for a day, and read about your life! This is a must for all those over-worked, underpaid moms!
I also recommend, "Mom CEO", by Teresa Kindred, and, "Leaving Lancaster County", by Teresa Phillips

" Confessions of Supermom" is a perfect read when you need to escape from the drugeries of making lunches, car pooling and trying to find the spelling lists. Melanie Lynn Hauser writes a charming story of Birdie Lee who is trying to juggle teenage angst, ex hubbie attitudes, best friend betrayl and a crush on fellow PTA member, Carl. When a horrble swifer incident changes her to super human the fun really begins! This is a laugh out loud book with many wonderful insights! A great gift book to share with a friend who needs reminding that she too is a super mom no matter what her kitchen floor looks like.
