About the Author

Miss S is a highly successful London-based paid companion. She began her career as a part time working girl in a brothel whilst she was a student, before moving on to agency work as an escort. The fact is, the more sex I have the more I crave it. I don't see it as an addiction - more of an indulgence. Everyone has a vice, it just happens that mine is sex. It's like being an athlete of sorts: the passion, the build up, the mental focus and physical pursuit of a goal is like a sexual sport, and one I adore. I have tried not to be too graphic as I write, but the act is graphic, sex is graphic ... "Making love" is a whole different ballgame - indeed, having sex makes me appreciate "making love." To me it's not better or worse just...different. I find great pleasure in both depending on what mood I'm in and who I am with of course!

Everyone has a skeleton in their closet, a dirty little secret, you know the one I mean. I don't feel ashamed of mine, just apprehensive about what I did. It's such a big taboo, but the general public are more accepting than you think. People are always interested in the details when they find out what I do, but as it ticks over they feel slightly ashamed to ask questions. I don't mind as long as they are discreet. This book basically is a diary account of what is going on in this art student's life. She desperately wants to buy a new camera to take on a trip to Venice to capture all the art. Instead of waiting forever slowly accumulating money she decided to get her money faster. I found it to be funny and informative as she talks about her clients at work and her school encounters. There's no fluff in this like there is in a lot of stories about brothels. It's just straight up what's going on. The writing style makes it easy to read--I couldn't put it down.

Confessions of a Working Girl was a quick, interesting read. Giving insight into a career that thankfully I know little about. I found it curious the author spends quite a bit of time glorifying prostitution, glossing over and rarely mentioning the uglier sides of the profession; including the drudgery and mental damage that must come from selling your body to anyone for cash. I'd love to hear a follow up from her a decade or two from now.

This was a fun and interesting book. I wish it was full of more detail on both activities and the business. Over all it was enjoyable book that I will read again.
