Book Description

November 13, 2007 Sword of Truth Series (Book 11)
Descending into darkness, about to be overwhelmed by evil, those people still free are powerless to stop the coming dawn of a savage new world, while Richard faces the guilt of knowing that he must let it happen. Alone, he must bear the weight of a sin he dare not confess to the one person he loves…and has lost. Join Richard and Kahlan in the concluding novel of one of the most remarkable and memorable journeys ever written. It started with one rule and will end with the rule of all rules, the rule unwritten, the rule unspoken since the dawn of history. When next the sun rises, the world will be forever changed.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

One of the most popular writers of fantasy today, Terry Goodkind divides his time between Maine and Nevada.

From AudioFile

In the concluding novel to his epic fantasy series, Goodkind ties up most of the plot threads while leaving some open for possible later exploration. Like much of the series, this volume is dominated by diatribes on the evils of socialism and religion. Despite this, listeners will be drawn into the complex plot twists and the final battle between Richard Rahl and Emperor Jagang. Sam Tsoutsouvas compels listeners through the story with a deep, stern voice that perceptibly softens when speaking the dialogue of women and children. Tsoutsouvas maintains a consistent tone and pace that align well with the book. 5.0 out of 5 stars An ending that redeems a series that lost its way, November 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a Goodkind fan. Loved Wizard's First Rule, and loved most of the follow up books. Sometime in or after Faith of the Fallen, though, this series lost its way. The last three books (Chainfire/Phantom/Confessor), an ending trilogy, gave this awesome series the ending it needed. If you gave up on this series a while ago, pick up Chainfire and make your way through to Confessor. It's an ending that echoes much of what we loved in the first book, and neatly ties up all the loose ends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thank God..., July 26, 2009

It's over. I don't have to spend another minute of my life reading Mr. Goodkind's interminable pap. A good friend got me started on this series several years ago. He agrees that he owes me at least a good dinner for the lost hours spent trying to get to the end of this series.

If you want to read the original series this was ripped off from, look for the "Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan. If you want to read an even better written series, "Song of Fire and Ice" by George RR Martin. Both much better books and I don't know why Mr. Jordan didn't sue Mr. Goodkind for plagiarism. He had a case...

5.0 out of 5 stars Collections which hold the Sword of Truth predecessor will relish CONFESSOR's powerful conclusion., January 9, 2008
This audio read by Sam Tsoutsouvas represents the culminating conclusion of Goodkind's 'Sword of Truth' series and lends the professional actor's smooth and clear voice to this story of a rising darkness and free people who fight the descent of the world into a new savage era, led by one Richard, determined to save his world. An epic journey has been created, and collections which hold the Sword of Truth predecessor will relish CONFESSOR's powerful conclusion.
