I was in a rut, scared and irritated with life. After a strong recommendation from a friend, I read The Confidence Factor. Wow. This book is not only about the philosophy of confidence, but actual ways to address my personal situations. Because of the insights Dr. Briles shared, I now surround myself with respected and positive people. I admit my failures and faults -- I am NOT the only goof. There's a whole world of them/us out there! I carry on knowing I am smarter for the experience and for the next time! I treat others better and with more respect. This is then returned to me. The list goes on...This book has helped me reevaluate my actions (to myself AND others) resulting in positive changes in my life during a very difficult (and at the time, I thought Impossible!) period. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

The author is a dynamic speaker and gifted with a reader friendly style. Her 10 Steps to Building Confidence are relevant and practical. Each uses stories from men and women--some highly visible, some who you would meet at a neighborhood party. The Confidence Quiz is a kick. This book has far more substance than Who Moved My Cheese. I liked it because I could read it within a few hours.

My brother was recently laid off. I bought him this book because his self-esteem was at an all time low. After reading the book, the change in him was was significant. Dr. Briles has a way of cutting through the fluff with without being harsh. I'm buying lots more books for graduation gifts. Wish I'd been given this book when I graduated. Jean Kelley

The book is excellent--I have three other Briles' books--The Confidence Factor is a welcomed addition. Written in a reader friendly style, it's woven with stories and examples that I can easily relate to.

After reading it, I realized I wasn't so alone when I experienced a major workplace problem--and that the author gave me some valuable tips on how to turn the mess that I dound myself in around. Recommend this book for everyone.

Given the highs and lows that are such a part of life, this book should be read periodically. It is a good reminder that while we all slip, it's crucial that we get back up and carry on with life in positive ways. The Confidence Factor reminds us that we can not only overcome what takes us down, but also explains how we can best accomplish it. An excellent gift for graduating high school and college students and/or for those who are starting out in the work place.

Well, Dr. Briles has done it again. Her insight cuts through the usual psycho-babble and gets right to what matters most to us as human beings. This book gives us the boost we need to go out there and do what matters most to us. No more trying to meet the expectations of others first. She has really made me think and evaluate my life.

The Confidence Factor was awarded the "Best Business Motivation Book from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association annual awards event in June 2002.
