From Library Journal
Simic, a former teacher, is the main contributer in this easy-to-read and interesting book for parents seeking to encourage their children to do well in school. The book is divided into eight chapters which cover a wide range of subject areas, including motivation, support, stress, and discipline. Each chapter follows the same format. The topic is discussed in detail, using examples and possible solutions to problem areas. Questions that parents are likely to ask are then addressed, a feature which this reviewer found very helpful. Finally, an annotated bibliography is provided. This is an extremely useful and informative book, written by experienced advocates of parental involvement in education. Recommended for most libraries.
